Protect Geno and we have a chance. Bengals play a good defense, but so do we. Turnovers must go in our favor.

It is a Fox double header week not CBS, there really is no nationwide game on CBS - the closest being the NE/Mia at 1pm - They are pretty much obligated to show the game of regional interest at 1pm. Only the Oakland, NY, Pitt/Cinci markets have late game on CBS.
All of the early CBS games will have wider coverage area because of this, hence where the announcers are going.

We actually always play the Bengals tough. Just one of those teams that we match up well against for whatever reason. Our defenses are about even. However their Offense is definitely more talented than ours. The key is no turnovers and a strong running game and we should be in this game.

Is it just me of do we have a lot of 4 oclock start times this year? Really annoying being that I work at 4 on Sundays.

Its because the Jets and Giants didnt get many primetime games so one team has to play at 1 and the other at 4.

It's weird because you'd think last week we'd play at four. because Jets-Pats and the Giants would play at four today because its their arch nemesis. Probably because of the World Series, but there are no big games on either Fox or CBS anyway

This should be a helluva game. Both teams have very good defenses, so I don't expect a lot of scoring. When I look at the Jets, I kind of see the Bengals 3 years ago...good young defense, rookie QB, trying to build consistency with alot of young guys, etc. I see a lot of potential in Geno Smith, with the expected growing pains along the way. Like I said, I like your defense. They get after it, play hard and really seem to be able to do a lot of different things. You guys also have a RB in Chris Ivory who I really wanted the Bengals to land in the offseason, but you guys got him. The kid has a ton of talent, he just has to stay healthy and put it all together.

I'm really happy with where the Bengals are right now. I feel like we have continued to grow and get better during the season. Andy is playing very well right now and they are really doing a nice job of including all the weapons on offense. Zimmer and the D have been very good as usual, even though the loss of Leon Hall was a big blow.

I think this will be a hard fought game, with both D's playing well. In the end, I think Andy makes a few more plays than Geno and the Bengals win 23-17.

Here's to a great game and hopefully no major injuries!!!:metal:

Just realized Giants are away also away. Weird.

    And we're up against Broncos-Washington.

Nice post. I think it will come down to whoever turns the ball over and has the least amount of mistakes will win this game. Both defense's are very good, but I do think the loss of Hall could open up 1 or 2 big plays for us.

    Goodluck

Hell yeah, turnovers could really be huge in this game, with these 2 D's. I think both teams are gonna have a narrow margin of error. On our side, I hope that Dre K will step up and do well in Leon's place. If not, it could get very interesting.

On a side note, I hate the damn 4 o'clock start! I'm used to starting my drunk at 1!!!!:drunk:

Thanks for the classy post. While I can't wish you luck, I hope both sides have a great game with no injuries and it's fun to watch!

The biggest problem I see is our poor OL getting run over by a strong Bengals front 4. D'Brick has had a really rough year. But what I am most afraid of is Atkins running over Winters. An interior rush is difficult for an experienced QB to handle not to emntion a rookie. With Dunlap and Johnson running free on the edge we need to keep some space for Geno to step up.

To make matters worse the Bengals secondary is very good even without Leon Hall. All 4 Bengals safeties are very good. If the Bengals take the Pitt approach of taking away the deep ball jamming out receivers at the line and getting a rush with their front 4 it could be a very ugly game for our offense. To have any chance we need to be able to run the ball. Which I don't see us being able to do. Which means either putting the game on Geno or on the defense.

The Bengals offense has been on fire. Green, Sanu, Gresham and Effert along with Bernard out of the back field are a lot fo weapons for our poor secondary to deal with. We need to get to Dalton and hit him to slow down the Bengals.

Despite our historical success against the Bengals this game has the potential for a 30+ point win for the Bengals. The Bengals are a loaded team.

How are you guys liking Gio Bernard? Was a big fan of his last year, loved him in the draft. Was some concern about his knee heading up to the draft- any issues there?

Agree with what you are saying about the Bengals. They are loaded with talent and are putting it together nicely right now. But, I have a different feel about this game. I just don't see a blowout in the cards. I would love to see it, but I think the Jets D will show up. Maybe if Geno Smith gets rattled by our D line, he starts forcing things or making bad decisions. If that happens, then I guess it could get ugly. If Geno Smith keeps his cool and make plays, then it's going to be a very competitive game, IMO. Of course, a lot depends on our QB play as well. Andy has been red hot and hopefully that continues.

JStokes, the fan base is loving Gio right now. The kid is electric when he touches the ball, for the most part. He has given us that receiving weapon out of the backfield that we desperately needed as well. I'm actually hoping that Gio will become a much larger part of the offense going forward. I like the Law Firm and he is important to our team, but he is also limited in what he can do.

This is the game that will show if he has progressed from the week2 meltdown game.

And that goes for the coaching staff as well. They over reacted against Pitt. Relying too much on the run.

As smith improves, and they find the formula for situation, the front 7 should be able to keep us in every game.

Hopefully, by 8pm, we are calling this the Mo Wilk party.

Cro has to cover AJ Green. mo Wilk can make a non factor.

I really like Bernard coming out of the draft. I wanted the Jets to get him, but they just weren't in the position for it.

The 2nd round of the last draft is looking pretty good all around.
