The Daily News has learned that defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson has won his appeal stemming from a play involving Titans quarterback Jake Locker in the Jets' 38-13 loss in Week 4. Wilkerson's $15,785 fine for his hit on Locker was rescinded by the league. Locker was carted off the field after suffering a hip injury. (There was no flag thrown on the play).

Locker said afterward that Wilkerson and Quinton Coples, who was also fined, should not have been fined by the league. Locker missed two games before returning last week.

Good for Mo. Mike Munchak is going to cry his eyes out in a follow up call to the league.

good, I can understand fining or suspending for blatant hits but I'm so sick of this borderline crap getting fined or flagged.

    Rant mode on.

The NFL is quickly becoming the NRFFL (National Referee Flag Football League). I'm so sick of this borderline call crap in the NFL, just as sick of it as I was the old "in the grasp" rule for Quarterback a decade or two back. You see guys getting flagged for hitting QB's who slide after the defender started the tackling move and tries to pull off it but still clips the QB getting flagged for Personal fouls. You see guys who haven't even stepped out of bounds yet getting defenders flagged for hitting a player out of bounds, yes in these cases it appears the QB or runner is going out of bounds but in this day and age I've seen several QB's look like they were about to step out and the defender lets up and then the QB cuts back inside.

No personal foul should be called UNLESS the play is blown dead. Now if a hit comes after the whistle fine...as long as the play ENDS when the whistle is blown. But this crap of players being fined or flagged for hits BEFORE the whistle is blown is complete bullshit.

    End Rant.

Good. Quit babying these QBs, man. In the words of Ray Lewis, "he's a man who can get just like us".
