Couldn't agree more, Jetaho. I actually left the thread today after the first quarter. It's hard to enjoy the game with all the nagativity. Not everyone, of course, but a lot. One guy, after the first NE touch down acually posted "game over". Keep in mind the Jets scored on their first drive too. I love this message board, but I doubt I'll be on the message boards on game day anymore.
This fan board is the same as all sports boards , pessimistic , wildly fluctuating from one week to the other.....you should try my soccer teams message board....13 games and yet to win....now that is a place to be afraid of!!!

where are the similar threads where people said we were going to lose to the Steelers and we did? people are emotionally scarred by the Jets, especially against the Pats, so long as people care what does it matter if they are pessimistic? I doubt the players are reading these boards and thinking "damn it I was going to try but now that chunkylover53 has said we suck and are going to lose then really there is no point even suiting up" but if it makes people happy to try and play a "I told you so" card then so be it.
I'll admit it I went into darksider mode at the end of the first half of the game. Pure frustration. I went the entire week telling my friends that I'm feeling good about this week, that I'm feeling like the Jets WILL pull this game off... then the pick six happens and the Jets blow what is otherwise an excellent and exciting first drive. It just bothered me. Being the Patriots, and due to my good friend who is as arrogant a Pats fan as I've ever met, I felt completely frustrated and down at that point. Then the Jets reminded me why I love them so much. Ups and downs, this team is the bomb. Couldn't root for any other team in any other sport. We will have our day.
We've won a combined 4 games by around 15 points if I am counting correctly. We've lost two games 3 games by 20-30 something points. We have a -28 points differential overall. Under Rex, Bill has come and outcoached and the players have outplayed the Jets the last 4 years with decisive and blowout wins. I don't see the problem when predicting for people to say we might lose. You need the balance on the board, you can't have everyone running around ignoring the faults our team has. Think about it this way, even the most negative posters have picked us to win either the TB or BUF game and lose the rest, they would be 4-3 on their picks. The most sunshiner person picked us to win all 7 games, would be 4-3 on picks.
I have no problem with people criticizing the owner, coaches, players, GM, play calling, execution, flight crew, whatever. I have no problem with people who predict a loss or losing season, so long as they can back up their opinion with a reasoned statement. You think Geno is not the answer - tell me why. You believe Rex's contract shouldn't be renewed - tell me why. What I have a problem with is the "fans" of this team who do nothing but boo draft picks to get on TV and tell us how much this team sucks without anything to back up their opinion, how we have absolutely no chance in Hell of winning (because we suck), and then declare that a game over in the first quarter of a tie game (because we suck). These idiots feed the "Jets suck" mentality that is so prevalent in the media. We are here to "talk about our beloved New York Jets" - not shit on them. This is especially true in the game thread. Aside from texts from relatives, my only contact with other Jets fans during a game is that thread, and when idiots start saying that a game is over in the first quarter of a tie game (they have that right), you can bet your ass that I'm going to call them out about it when it happens, and again when they're proven horrifically wrong like yesterday. Fuck those dicks. Support your team.
