I?m just coming back from a self imposed one week ban ? I was being sarcastic last Sunday night ripping Chad and when I read back my post I realized that it wasn?t funny so I booted myself for a week. I apologize to those I enraged. Anyway ? here are a few random things I have noticed over the first two weeks. Chad has exceeded my expectations so far. I?m still not completely sold on him being ?back? but am more optimistic. I still cringe whenever I see someone touch him ? and breathe a sigh of relief when I see him get up but he seems to have taken some pretty good hits so far without apparent injury. Living in Tampa ? I have seen the Bucs first two games. Chris Simms since he began working with Hackett is absolutely awful. I don?t think the Bucs will win more than three games in what will be Jon Grudens last year. That guy sucks on a Herm level. Herm looks like a complete jackass. I?m sure there are people puking in their seats in KC. Mangini doesn?t sweat on the sidelines. Anyone else notice that? He just seems completely calm and collected. They dude is a heavy guy standing in the sun for four hours and he doesn?t even have to wipe his brow. Amazing. The league seems pretty open and hard to call so far. Allot of the teams I expected to start strong haven?t.
i agree w/ you Chad has been great the first 2 games, 5 TDs, 1 Int and about 625 yds, you couldnt ask for a better performance, but they need to do something about the running its freaking horrible, and i am so glad Herm is doing horrible in KC, just cant wait until next week to see how Chad holds up
Wow another Noodle arm associate turned good. Chad really is special. :/ This can't be the same person. most overrated Jet ? Sarcasm indeed.
Chiefs struggle against clock Shocking development in KC: http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/sports/football/nfl/kansas_city_chiefs/15545050.htm Chiefs struggle against clock Things get especially confusing on Huard?s questionable timeout at the end of the second quarter. By ADAM TEICHER The Kansas City Star DENVER | With better clock management, the Chiefs might have left Invesco Field at Mile High with their first road win against the Broncos in six years. They would have at least given themselves a better chance. But in their first close game with Herm Edwards as coach, they wasted precious seconds at the end of the first half and fourth quarter and wound up losing 9-6 in overtime. Edwards was also plagued with clock-management issues during his time as head coach of the Jets. The situation was particularly ugly near the end of the second quarter. The Chiefs, in a scoreless game, had a second down at the Denver 11 with 9 seconds left. The clock was stopped because Samie Parker had gone out of bounds after catching a pass on the previous play, so they could have tried one more play before attempting a field goal. Quarterback Damon Huard burned the last timeout of the half as the Chiefs were breaking their huddle and heading toward the line of scrimmage. That left the Chiefs with no reasonable choice but to kick the field goal right then. Explanations varied. Guard Brian Waters indicated Huard may have had trouble getting the play call in proper time. Edwards said the Chiefs weren?t going to get the play started before the play clock expired perhaps because Huard was confused. ?We might have given the quarterback too much in the two-minute (situation),? Edwards said. ?The guy hasn?t played a lot. We can?t give him that much.? Huard, meanwhile, was worried about the Chiefs? ability to get the three points. ?With nine seconds, I didn?t want to have a bad play,? he said. ?I just thought it made the most sense with where we were at that point to take the timeout and make sure we got the three points. ?We weren?t lined up right. It just wasn?t right. I didn?t want to have a bad play and get no points at all.? The Chiefs again struggled late in the fourth quarter. With the score 6-6, the Chiefs had a first down at their 42 at the 2-minute warning. But two plays ? one being an 11-yard Larry Johnson run that moved the Chiefs past midfield ? burned one minute, 19 seconds. The Chiefs didn?t use their second timeout until 32 seconds remained and never used their third. ?We thought about (using timeouts), but then it got to third and 13,? Edwards said. ?We wanted to get the ball, drive down and kick a field goal with no time left, but we lost some yards. We needed to at least get to the 30, but we couldn?t do that.?
Not really ? I?m still not a real big fan; just giving credit where credit is due. It will take time to see what we have in Chad. Those previous posts were my opinion over years ? two games doesn?t change that. Definitely not a Chad sunshiner ? just impressed so far.
Welcome back. I don't think there is anything wrong with being uneasy and skeptical about Chad staying healthy. He's earned that criticism. However, it does seem that Herm has taken whatever voodoo QB injury bug curse we had over our heads to KC with him. If it counts for anything, at least you were funny about the hacking on Chad. I might not always agree with you, but you were usually funny at it. Leagues ahead of Mr. Noodle-Roni.
I haven't always agreed with a lot of your views but I've respected them, and I think the only thing you've ever posted that bothered me was:
