Agreed - if he can't score points with Peterson in the backfield he can't score points period, and he can go home with his $11 million. Their pass defense is putrid, so I'm not sure how much they'll win either way, but he should get the opportunity to resurrect his career if he can.

Picked up Freeman in my fantasy league for the sole purpose he plays the Giants next week and Brees is on bye. I've always liked the kid and am happy that he is out of Schiano's clutches. Can't stand Schiano. Way to college for me.

    Greg Schiano is a moron.

He thinks Glennon gives him a better chance to win than Freeman?

And the Bucs release Freeman outright rather than seek a draft pick in a trade? I don't believe no one would give anything.

Schiano is an idiot, but I don't know that they could have gotten a pick for him. Why would any team want to pay $8.4 million in salary plus a draft pick for a scrub like him, when he is likely to be available for nothing but a pro-rated veteran's minimum? Supposedly the Bucs tried hard to find a trade partner and couldn't find one, which is not surprising to me.

No one is going to trade for him and all those negative reports about Freeman likely didn't entice any great trade offer either ...

Dumb move especially if the leaks were by Schiano as reported
