That's the one I remember. The stadium was so quiet you could hear Folk's triumphant roar as the ball went through the uprights. A great moment!

I never understood why so many hated him, and why the Jets kept bringing in competition, but I've always supported him, and I am very proud of him. Sure we messed up by letting Nugent go too early, but Dallas messed up by letting Folk go.

All kickers go through this. They are hot for a while, then for some reason they start missing everything, and they are run out of town. Folk himself was run out of Dallas for missing everything. I just hope he can stay in this groove for a while. He's kicking ass right now.

I've thought Folk has been underrated/under appreciated for a few years now. He has yet to miss a game winner and last since he had a similar start. He rarely misses field goals, he's very consistent. Every team brings in a second kicker in the offseason for competition I don't look at that as a knock against Folk. I liked Jay Feeley also. We have been pretty good at that position for awhile now. Imagine if we had Folk in 2005 instead of Doug fucking Brien. We would have been in the damn super bowl.

Off topic but Rex needs to be re-signed long term ASAP. I really don't understand all the hate towards him.

When he entered the game in the last 2nds of the 4th vs the Falcs (after the Genominator did his thing), I just KNEW it was "GAME OVER"!

I would also like to add Tanner Purdem and Ryan Quigley to this congratulatory thread. They really are the pinnacle of the word team

Usually after a kicker has to tackle someone is when problems can arise. Let's hope we don't see him in that situation.

The Jets didn't mess up on Nugent outside of drafting him in the 2nd round. He was average with the Jets and then got injured. They ably replaced him with Jay Feely followed by Folk. Nugent has done well in Cincy after recovering but he hasn't been better than the Jet kickers.

Correct, PRIOR to him getting injured (torn labrium in his hip).

He did looked finished. Problem was, he had rushed back from surgery too quickly and in compensating for that, he compromised his form which led to the obvious ripple effects....accuracy, distance, etc.

Nugent's replace Shayne Grahman a so-so kicker in his own right, and while Nugent's corrected his own early career hiccups and is above averarge, I wouldn't put him up there with the elites.

In releasing Folk, Dallas simply let go of a kicker who wasn't fully yet healed. It's ususally the following year (i.e. a year removed) when the 'fully healed' starts to kick in.

Baring any setback, from this point on, each day for Folk further distances himself from his recouperating days.

He is money. Every time he lines up i say "he's got it, hasn't missed all season" then knock on wood in the back of my mind I am saying "does the streak end here?" But he nails it every time. I wouldn't want any other kicker right now. He has made significant improvement in his kickoffs too.

Folk misses a couple of forgettable FG's every year, but I can't think of a single kick that he has missed when the game was on the line. I was an advocate of getting this guy, and I am so glad that he panned out.

He's been superb this year, but he's also been below 80% his previous three seasons in NY.
