Double digit sacks from a 3-4 defensive end is elite status. JJ Watt is on a tier to himself, but Mo IMO is right behind him. If Richardson can get about 8 sacks, and Coples starts to actually get to the QB, it could be a thing of beauty (not that it isnt already).
Yeah, Im pretty sure teams already double him... He's clearly our best player, and he still beats the double team- for instance his strip sack yesterday (beat the RT inside and then the guard). If they possibly can double him more, itll free up other rushers like Richardson, Harrison in the run game or Coples. Someone will take advantage of the 1 on 1.
I'm gonna go under. 10 sacks seems like the number to me. That is an great number for a 34 DE. Eventually, Coples, Richardson, and Barnes (barring serious injury) are going to steal some sacks from Mo.
It's wild, our base D is so efficient! The thing is that Wilkerson is special for a few reasons; 1, he is developing so well that at this point he is damn near impossible to properly block with one lineman on him. That is true game changer status, and forces the opposing team each week to take time in their game plan to make sure the QB and line are always aware of where he's coming to set up double team blocks. 2, He can play any position on the line at that damn near unblockable level, so shifting him around on the line creates havoc, as the line is constantly trying to figure out how to shift protection. He will invariably create one on one situations and will probably keep right about on pace or a little under at about 12 sacks. The kicker is that Richardson is on pace for nearly 8 sacks, a pace which I only expect to increase. There's no reason he can't continue to refine his technique, and with a motor like his the sacks will come.
Richardson was getting double teamed some plays too. I remember one play he spun around the first blocker and was pushing past the second blocker, but someone else already got to the running back.
he's gonna get doubled every possession now, you seen it towards the end of the Atlanta game, they were all over him
I really hope Mo gets into the Double digit sack range, But I hope I REALLY HOPE he get a few on Big Ben and A few more on Brady. The rest will all be gravy.
I say over. I was banking on around ten before the season started, but he's really showing he can do more. 4 sacks in 5 games is really good for a 3-4 DE and there's a good chance he might have a couple more against the Steelers.
He'll probably have an opportunity to have like 6 sacks against Ben. Just up to Mo whether he can bring Ben down or not. I say he has over 13 for the year. I'm thinking he'll have 14.
I think a bakers Dozen. I am sure we are going to have a couple weeks left in season that we get ahead of a bad team w bad oline and we jail break for like 8 sacks like we did against Buffalo- so a couple 2 sack games are not out of the question.
