Mariota 7 total TDs against Colorado. He's a big dude. Teddy Bridgewater with some nice touch passes yesterday. _
Christian Hackenberg is under the proper tutelage at Penn State and is my guy if Geno doesn't work out Which sadly means Rex is gone as well since no coach gets 3 QBs, well not in New York anyway
Im going for Birdgewater. Just hope this doen't turn out to be a wrong move. If your good in college you might not turn out to be the best in the NFL. Anyways I hope the Jets atleast get to the playoffs with Geno Smith. Or win the Superbowl.
walsh said that when the draft had more rounds than currently. with 7 rounds that philosophy is very risky. i remember tannenbaum saying that just a few years ago - tough to do when u trade away picks and always have less than 7.
Bridgewater throws such an easy ball, looks effortless. Not a huge game but still, he is so in control of his offense. _
Just so everyone know, Teddy Bridgewater was a dual threat option quarterback in high school and his freshman year at louisville. He is fast. I see him running a low 4.5ish at the combine.
I think you'll live to regret this statement in the near future. Geno have everything, the short passes, the deep ball and the foot speed. The only thing that can hold him back is turnovers, BUT he is sickly accurate so you know that won't be a problem in the future. Think about it.
Hate to see it happen but QB's should not be running the football except when they have too. Edit: watching the game now and Manziel is out there? Did he actually leave the game with a knee?
Couple of thoughts on Manziel: 1. Who said he has a weak arm? The guy was throwing absolute lasers tonite downfield or outside the numbers and with tremendous accuracy. 2. The guy is the most exciting QB in college. That fourth quarter was incredible and I never got the sense he was nervous, I never thought they had any chance of losing and while he's not going to be running like that in the pros, some of those runs were electric- and TOUGH! He put a guy on a stretcher that was hitting HIM! I'm realy starting to think he's going to be a very good pro. The guy can throw and he can lead. _
Yeah he left, but then came back out ten minutes later. Good to see he is okay. I think they were talking about a knee sprain.
Yeah, they said they put a brace on the knee but I didn't see it. It must have been one of the ultralights. The guy Manziel reminds me of is Doug Flutie. It's 30 years later but he basically has most of the same characteristics. He runs more but the pistol didn't exist in Flutie's day nor the read option.
His arm strength has definitely improved from last season. He can certainly add some heat on his passes, especially the intermediate ones.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...-morris-has-look-of-nfl-franchise-quarterback Like me Bucky Brooks seem to have a hard on for Stephen Morris. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...-morris-has-look-of-nfl-franchise-quarterback
well i'll try to watch his next game and let u know if my blood flows or not thanks for the info. certainly one to watch.
Kiper thinks Marcus Mariota is nipping at the heels of Bridgewater, and McShay didn't disagree. I watched the kid play high school football here on O‘ahu and thought to myself he's gonna play in the NFL someday. He is still young--just a redshirt Sophomore, but his stock is so high right now I doubt he returns to Oregon.
Saw that segment on ESPN today--they both agreed that Bridgewater is the next "franchise" guy--Kiper compared him to Rogers, when he leaves the pocket he is not thinking run first but is always looking downfield--but that Mariota, with his size and skillset and how accurate he has become, might end up being the pick OVER Teddy. Said there are 7 QBs that might go in round 1-2. Also, Kiper said NOW he had Manziel as late 1 or early 2, McShay said depending on the rest of the year and his psych tests, could wind up top 15. Wow. _
This is one of the reasons I didn't want to draft Geno last season, this draft looks to have a crazy QB class.
