Anyone who just saw the handshake between Mangini and Bellichick and thinks that the animosity between them is just made up by the media is not paying attention.
We should've brought in a QB with the arm strength to hit the end zone if we were going for the hail mary. Then again we really shouldn't have dug a 24-0 hole in the 2nd half either, so there you go. I just can't help but feel that we could've won that game if not for the folding of our defense. Oh well, kudos to the offense/special teams for grinding it out and giving them all they can handle in any case.
Hopefully the Defense learns a valuable lesson from this game...that when you are mounting a comeback late in the game, you have to stop the other team from getting a lot of first downs in a row.
I like that it appeared that our coaches made better halftime adjustments than the Patriot coaches. When was the last time that happened?
They're on the field because they won't stop third down conversions. They also seemed to not get a pass rush on Brady. The offense did enough in the second half too, the defense just did not show up. Good defenses don't use that excuse. What was the TOP anyway?
I don't know what to say. I am upset that we lost the game, but man I am 100% proud with this team today. They showed heart, fight, and didn't give up. I don't know what Mangini said in the lockeroom, but when they started building up momentum after Cotcherys amazing TD, I was just in awe. Coles TD got me in a frozen shock, and then Kerry Rhodes Saftey Blitz that forced the fumble was great too. And what about that blocked FG. Who would have thought that was really going to happen! No doubt we would have won this game if we had (a)2:00 minutes left (b)Atleast 2 TimeOuts. Overall, the game was very exciting (later on ofcourse). The Jets showed what kind of team they can be. And even though we did not win this game, I still :rofl2: at those who said the game was over when it was 24-0.
We were this close to a win!hmy: AFC East Standings Patriots - 2-0 Jets - 1-1 Bills - 1-1 Dolphins - 0-2
Very good point that I haven't seen anyone else make. The Jets weren't going to suddenly make talent appear in players that weren't talented before, but the kinds of game-time adjustments that occurred, on both offense and defense, were certainly something new to see, especially against the Patsies.
You can't really put blame on anyone. It's ridiculous. They out played us in the first half, and then the Jets made the adjustments, and quite honestly the Pats were owned in the second half. They played as good as a team with no running game, and no run stop game can do against a team like the Pats. They damn near tied it up on them. You just can't complain. Went to no huddle in the 3rd; that's smart O. They aren't great, but they've already exceeding my expectations in the first 2 games.
Why is it the Giants could come back when down 24-7 in the fourth, but we couldn't? The Giants D was absolutely gashed in the first half too. Why is it okay to make excuses for the Jets D not being there when we needed them, when other teams go and make those plays when they need em? No excuses, we gotta get better.
If you're asking this question, you shouldn't be. Think about the 2 teams for a while and the stark contrast between them.
