Interesting, I wonder if we make a move at him.

I would pick him up once he clears waivers

I thought he would have been a better choice than S-word for the way the team was built when Rex took the job, but I wouldn't want the Jets to pick him up. We already have enough damaged goods.

Do you think he's going to make it past Jacksonville?

I would think he'll clear but you never know. I am not sure what his contract #s are though.

Do people consider Freeman a better QB than Sanchez?

Obviously he isn't but he's still a young, talented guy that maybe a change of scenery can change his career. I think he has higher upside than Brady Quinn.

if a team picks him up off waivers they get his contract

    Freeman is 100% clearing waivers

I was worried the Jets might take Freeman in 2009. Luckily, they took Mark Sanchez and the team went on to win 4 playoff games in 2 seasons. Jets fans saw Freeman in Week 1. Much rather have Geno out there. Freeman would be a good pick up for the Raiders or Jaguars. Maybe Vikings. Can't think of anyone else.

If Jacksonville wants Bridgewater he'll make it past them.

Isn't there speculation of drug use and alcohol; heavy use, binge use?

picking up Freeman would not prevent them from taking Bridgewater.

Marginally better. Like comparing horse dung to dog crap. Both are bad, but Freeman has more upside.

No chance Jax touches him either, that would be an absolutely insane move considering they are in pole position for the #1 pick. They will not do anything to interfere with that, Bradley even keeps trotting out Gabbert to ensure "L"s

My guess is the Steelers will have serious interest. Ben gets hurt a lot, Freeman would be a great backup

Surprising move however you slice it. Something else has to factor into this decision. Off field issues perhaps? Something stinks in Tampa and it ain't just the team.

Would that even matter? Tampa has to pay him the full 8+ mill left on his contract and if he clears with a team that's a whole new contract... correct me if I'm wrong.

Ah... that's how it works... no one is going to have an 8 million dollar backup on their team. :sigh:

Freeman is better in every category, but not by a huge amount, except in TDs and total yards. He did have 100 more passing attempts than Mark, however. They are close, IMO, but Freeman is better.
