I'm completely underwhelmed by this news. Just show me baby because you haven't done anything else right so far and this is your career on the line.
Powell has been pretty good and should continue to get a nice size workload. Goodson has breakaway speed that Powell simply doesn't possess. Get him out in space and see what he can do. Give him a few carries to try and get outside, throw him a few swing passes, screens and checkdowns and see if this offense can get a few chunk plays that way which would take some pressure off Geno.
With the WRs dropping like flies and no Ivory for who knows how long, it is nice to see an addition to our skill players. Hopefully, he can provide a spark.
This could not have come at a better time,, We could use all the help we can get. Just hope he is in shape.
I wouldn't.. He isn't gonna come out Monday night and just light it up... He is gonna need a few weeks to get back into "football shape"... We should start seeing what he is really capable of around week 8-9...
He is being positive.... He said Goodson would be back in six weeks. Hey, we are Jets fans; I think most of us don't really know how to be positive. I lost that ability when Vinny went down with a ruptured tendon or Achilles or whatever .0000001 seconds into the '99 season.
Jesus you must have a bad team, if your looking to pick up Goodson, I've never even heard of the guy, except on this board, he's a playmaker with blazing speed?
I just wish they would use Goodson like a woodhead. He's very fast and quick. Last year he avg around 12 per reception, but 14 yards a catch on yac. He's great on screens. I'd say get him into space and let him do work.
I'm in a 14 team league, picked him up on the cheap and am even considering playing him as a flex bc I own the banged up Spiller. He could possibly make something happen on special teams or on a screen, as I expect us to be down most of the game and Powell looked gimpy to me at the end of last week. Is Ivory playing? I have heard nothing about him.
I don't think Ivory is playing, I'm pretty sure he didn't practice this week and his hamstring is still bugging him.
Goodson's only viable because Ivory is injured, but I don't think I'd play him against the Falcons. Powell will be the workhorse and Goodson will be change of pace back. I like the potential but I don't see it exploding on Monday. It'll need some time to gel, just like the rest of our offense. Injuries are killing us again this year. Then again, who knows. Goodson could be a game changer. I've been missing our return game since McKnight left.
Awesome game last night bud!! Getting limited snaps because of his hamstring, but looked damn good in them. Hope he returns to full health. We have 3 RBs that could be deadly together!!
