Trash being added at WR seems like a compliment when u look at our current group of slobs at WR. If Gates has a bad performance today I could see us being intrested

if Gates is the difference between us trying to get a young stud then we're fucked for the near future

I'm sick of mediocre players filling this team up

I'd be really surprised if they traded Thomas. They're not going to get a windfall of picks for him and he's probably the best player on the team. (Probably? My bad, he's clearly the best player on the team.)

Aside from Thomas the Browns have basically none of the things on offense you need to be a winner in the NFL at this point. They do have a really good C and he's a free agent at the end of the season.

So if the Browns trade Thomas they need: LT, QB, WR and RB moving forward.

That's 3 1st round picks and a 2nd or 3rd and they're likely to miss on 2 of the 4 picks and have to do it again.

I would normally agree with everything you just said, but if they are trading Richardson, then who isn't for sale? Jordan Cameron looks like a decent find at TE, but then again Norv Turner makes a lot of TEs look great wherever he has been INCLUDING Miami with Randy McMichael.

Schefter also said they are interested in Ben Tate as a FA next year ... I assume they likely go QB in the 1st round next year, but it will remain to be seen.

Id go hard for Gordon. Kid has #! WR potential. He's a dumbass, but Id trade a conditional 5th in a heartbeat.

Ive said this in other threads, but we just drafted Oday fucking Aboushi in the 5th. Gordon has a chance to be great, and you could get him for a 5th? Sign me up. If he fucks up again, you only lose out on a 5th rounder in a year where the Jets should be getting 4 compensation picks.

I just can't see what Browns expect to get in exchange for Greg Little. Stone hands and massive character issues - I wouldn't even give a 7th rounder for him.

Josh Gordon on the other hand has a lot of upside. Could be a great "buy low" opportunity for some team willing to take the risk. Hopefully it won't be Patriots.

You keep saying this like 5th round picks are disposable garbage. We drafted Jeremy Kerley in the 5th round in 2011.

I wouldn't even let the Browns pay US a seventh to take Greg Little.

Gordon'll probably be way too pricey for the risk (unlike Holmes when we traded for him), supposedly the Browns have at least one 'quality' offer for him.

Heh, Cleveland Browns acting like they're in the NBA. Full out tank mode and not even hiding it.

New regime coming in wants a fresh start. They have 2 first round picks, 1 second round pick, 2 third round picks, 2 fourth round picks in 2014 right now.

I don't mind this, they are acting like they have a plan. We can argue if the plan is the correct one, if we can trust them to use the picks wisely, but the FO having a plan is better than them not having one from a fan perspective

I'm all in with josh Gordon. Kid is an absolute stud #1. I know it's a risk, but very worth it if asking price is something around a 3rd.

I've got to agree with Jeti here. Yes, you can find a gem in the 5th, but to get someone who has proven ability in the 5th is another story. I think that if he comes in knowing that this is a no-BS situation, and he has a short leash, it could prove to be a steal. Especially for a potential #1 receiver. Holmes is likely to be gone soon, so who else do we have to step up? I would do this deal AND draft another WR next year.

This times a thousand. I'm surprised they haven't put Joe Haden on the block yet, then again even they're not that stupid/stubborn...are they?

I mean the theory in the NBA is much truer, you never want to be a middling team for a while, you always want to heading in the direction of really bad or really good. Being the Bucks (sorry Bucks fans) is exactly where you don't want to be in the NBA.

I'm not so sure if it's true in the NFL, the NFL is more you need a QB or you have a QB league. Right now RBs aren't nearly as valuable as they once were, their careers are shortened, while QBs are extended. Right now I think Lombardi and the GM (I don't think Lombardi is the GM but he might be) think they don't have a QB and want a fresh restart.

I think they'll keep their top tier players, but trade all the middling players with promise, sell high. A young group of talented players with what you think is your future QB, it's not the worst thing to sell to fans.

If you're hoping to get Teddy Bridgewater the last person you'd consider trading would be Joe Thomas.

Wow the Browns are completely giving up this year. If they don't nail this next draft they are screwed for a looooong time.

True ... If QB is the ultimate goal, then don't trade the top insurance policy

I'd trade for Gordon in a heartbeat. He instantly becomes the Jets #1, is way cheaper than Holmes, younger, and just as talented. A proven 2-3 year NFL player is worth way more than a draft pick, especially at WR. I'd give up a 4th or even a 3rd for Gordon and never look back. I have a feeling he's headed for the Pats and will become a star there. Sometimes a player is worth much more than the pick and this is the case. And you get him at a bargain because of his situation and the Browns situation.

I don't get how people clamor over old over the hill trash like Edwards and Owens and scoff at trading one of 12 draft picks for a player with the potential of Gordon.

a 4 or 5 for Gordon gives you an experienced player with a lot more upside than anyone we would get with that pick. Even with Gordon's troubles why would the Browns do this. I understand the Richardson move as he is a RB with a lot of miles on his legs who might not have many years left by the time they turn the ship around. But Gordon is a guy they can build around with a new QB.

I would expect NE to be interested.
