Well Smith has his team of the Chiefs in the lead with the Eagles. Andy Reid has something of a bittersweet homecoming!

Maycock: "you make the tackle, you get off the field"

no, you dumbass. It was 2nd and 14. That would've set up third down.

Chip Kelly is going to find out why Those screwy scrimmage lines aren't used in the NFL..they don't work at the NFL level. Guys are experienced and the slowest NFL player is top 1/3 of the college.

he's also going to find out that you just can't gas out your defense in the NFL.

everyone outside of their division did - he ended up going for 2 second round picks - my mate is a big niners fan so I watch a lot of their games and I said to him at the time I wish we had traded for Smith - he is very unspectacular but just does everything well and rarely turns the ball over - if we had him at QB I would bet my last $100 we would go better than 8-8 this season - hell we would be 2-0 already for a start - all this team needs is a QB that doesnt turn the ball over 3 or 4 times a game and we would be very good - sadly we havent ever had that since Rex has bene here.

    Exactly

Alex Smith isn't a franchise QB, nor will he ever win you games, but unlike a certain Mexican QB we have on our team, he won't lose games for you. He's the best game manager in the league imo.

I'm pretty sure the Saints 2012 playoff team would disagree with you. Smith had to make big plays the whole second half because 49ers couldn't stop Drew Brees. He made every big throw and play in the 4th quarter that you could ask for, and he had only one weapon (Davis) to throw to. He plays it safe for sure, but he is really underrated, IMO.

And that "not turning the ball over" thing is something I'm sure the SF team would've appreciated last week in Seattle.

NFC East continues to stink it up - Dallas D stops Rams, punt returner promptly muffs punt.

Dallas D stops Rams again, and Rams fail on fake punt. Strange start.

Bengals over Packers and Cardinals over Saints on impressive TD drives.

Packer KR fumbles on kickoff and Bengals have the ball inside the 5. Green-Ellis for the TD on the next play.

    Terrible start for Green Bay.

I'm going to be so pissed if the Bengals beat the Packers, I had the Bengals picked in all my pickems and then this morning had second thoughts and changed to the Packers...I should learn never to second guess myself, almost every wrong pick this year has been me second guessing my initial impulse.
