Week 4 is just around the corner which means Goodson will be returning soon! Anyone else excited like I am to see what this guy can do? Could really help Geno and our offense out if he stays healthy. With Ivory showing progression, Goodson might be all we need to establish some sort of run game. Can't wait for this guy to suit up!!

Excited, but lack of training camp and practice camp have my expectations low.

I think he can be like what Leon Washington was for us, a game breaker/ Home run hitter.

It would've been if he had some Pre season snaps but players like Goodson usually wing it with their speed. I liked this move and was expecting a Goodson vs Ivory for the starting rb job, but stuff happens.

Looking fwd to this weapon as rb and pr/kr.

I read somewhere where Goodson can condition with the team and sit through meeting but I'm not sure if he can step foot on the practice field until the end of his suspension.

If he's allowed to practice full speed with the team he should be good to go game #5. If not, he may not make any real contributions until after the bye,

Yeah, he is not allowed to practice with the team at all. He said he will get into football shape over these 4 weeks. He's allowed to watch tape and attend team meetings, but he can't play or practice til after the Week 4 game.

I don't think it will take him that long to integrate into the offense effectively, but I could be wrong.

In all honesty, I think he is a guy this offense has been needing for a long time. Explosive and fast. He can make plays in space and can make people miss. This team is getting younger and faster and a guy like Goodson fits into that motto perfectly.

I just cant wait. My gut tells me they will introduce him slowly. A few touches on selected plays, screens, outside runs. Just give him a subset of the playbook till he gets in good football shape. By the NE game he should be ready to cause some damage to their Defense.

A lot of people around these forums seem really high on Goodson. I remain skeptical however since he's done nothing in the past to show he's going to he a major contributor. Speed does not translate to production on the field.

I'm hoping that he can help but he can't do much if we just keep passing the ball all the time!

He's not allowed to practice with the team.

he has averaged nearly 9 yards per catch and over 4 yards per carry...on top of that he can return kicks. If they can get the guy's head on straight he is a nice option/security blanket for Smith as is attempts to learn.

We need a kick returner badly. Hopefully he's still keeping in shape. We could really use him catching out of the backfield.

Anyone know if he has experience returning punts? Kerley is ok and wilson sucks.

Wilson does suck. The thing is, he was really good at it in college. Seems punt returning is one area where college success means nothing translated to what they can do in the NFL.

We old-timers remember Aaron Glenn being the best returner in college, and after two disastrous attempts returning for the Jets in a preseason game, they never put him back there again.

I can't recall seeing much of Goodson to get excited about him being activated, especially with little to no workouts and training camp. I just hope he stays out of Paterson.

With no training at all he will probably pull a groin and be lost for another 6 weeks.

    He's back baby!!!

He was interviewed and said he lifted and ran twice a day while he was gone. Should be in good shape. Excited to see this guy in the backfield :)
