Figured I'd start a thread and update as the season progresses. If any of you have other rankings, I will input them as we go. As of Week 2: Total Offense - Ranked 25th Total Defense - Ranked 2nd As of Week 3: Total Offense - Ranked 10th Total Defense - Ranked 3rd As of Week 4: Total Offense - Ranked 12th Total Defense - Ranked 2nd As of Week 5: Total Offense - Ranked 14th Total Defense - Ranked 2nd
I said before the season began and I'll say it again, the Jets D will be #1 this year. It will convince Idzik and Woody to keep Rex. You don't know what you have until you lost it.
You guys see PITT last night? Another team that has no playmakers at WR and RB. There really wasn't many good WR'sin the 2013 draft except that kid hopkins that the texans selected. What a good drafting team. Kid catches everything and has them big hands.
They have Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders, wtf are you smoking? Their RBs aren't that great, but their #1 hasn't played yet. The play selection last night was awful.
Jets could be #1 but if they're worse than 6 and 10 they're not keeping Rex. Whats the point of having the best defense and having the worst offense?
D numbers look good. Its still early but I hate being ranked 30th in offense turnovers. The rank is right btw, but Jets have 6 t.o.'s, not 3. Not sure where you got the stats from but wonder if the others are right?
A jockey can't win a race with a slow horse, and right now there's not a single thoroughbred on the offensive side of the ball
should any of us be suprised? The Defense has at least 5 1st round picks on it, and many more 2nd's. Now look at who is on the other side of the ball. I sound like a broken record but until we invest in some fucking playmakers on O, I dont care who is behind center. Look at Andy Dalton. The guy may not be the best QB in the NFL but his team has invested in YOUNG weapons. This is key, they all have a chance to Gel togther making ANdy look better than he really is. How would Geno or Mark fair with these weapons? The hard part for a team like this is when the contracts come due in the next 2-5 years. *Green, Sanu, Hawkins, Gio, Gresh, Eifert, Jones
Rex is not going anywhere but up with the Jets. Our GM is smart enough to know that. Now, in 2014, the draft will be heavy handed in support of the offense, with the exception of the OLB position. Would not be surprised if we dip the free agency pool for one big splash (young super star please, and no asinine contracts like Holmes or Sanchez)
