    Texans tie!

And yeah you take the risk of SD getting a closer FG, but once SD ran and showed they were settling you take the TOs to try and squeeze one extra possession out after the FG. If SD kicks the FG with 0 seconds left, 0% chance at winning which is less than minuscule

oh well, there goes Survivor with the Eagles losing.

Houston might've been safer but I wanted to save them, and they might lose too.

I disagree, since SD had a timeout anyway so they would have taken a timeout anyway if they had wanted to.

You're assuming SD makes the FG. Philly started calling timeout when SD was facing roughly a 50 yarder.

You allow SD the opportunity to improve their odds on the FG, and in return you get less than 10 seconds left on the clock.

So your logic is flawed. You're not going from 0% chance of winning to 1%.

Huge difference because a long field goal is not assured.

Dallas, Washington, and Philly all lose - looks like the NFC East isn't going to be too good this year.

The Bills now have a QB. Been a long time since I've been able to say that.

SD ended up getting 3 yards.

It's a risk. SD was settling so they believed they were in range of the FG. They would take the FG with 1 second left, and it would be game over if he makes it and OT if he misses.

Or you take your TOs. Then if your defense can hold strong, you still have them taking a long FG and if they miss, you get one long shot. If he makes it,you get one more possession.

Either way you are in a tough spot. If SD has 0 timeouts, I agree. Here I like taking the risk and announcers should have picked up on the strategyt.

I think Kelly was assuming that his defense wasn't going to prevent SD from getting into FG range, a not unreasonable assumption given how bad they were today (SD had 545 yards of total offense today).

When icing, I don't like letting the FG kicker getting a kick off. I would just take it and let him sit and wait.

    TEN blockes FG, but offsides

    Ridiculous ending in Houston:
    (1) Lefler kicks a 51 yard FG to win it, but a timeout is called just before to freeze him.
    (2) Lefler has the kick blocked, but the guy was offsides.
    (3) Lefler misses a 46 yard FG to go to OT, but a timeout was AGAIN called just before to freeze him.
    (4) Lefler tries a 46 yarder again and it hits the upright. Going to OT.

    Titans Texans going to OT.

So Hou lined up a 51 yarder, TEN iced, but HOU made the kick.
THen on the next 51 yard attempt, Griffin blocked it by offsides.
Then HOU lined for a 46 yarder, TEN iced, he missed left.
Then Hou lined up for 46 yarder, and hit the left upright.
