Nope, simultaneous possession goes to the receiver. Also, ignores the TD ruled on the field so they wouldn't been able to turn it into a pick there.
There's been goals where you don't see the puck cross the line, but rather the glove it is in (or pad it is under) entirely behind the line. I also remember a goal about 10 years ago in the playoffs where there was a good goal without ever being seen in the net. goalie tried the hug the post, and his pad was behind it--never saw the puck in the net, but clearly saw in front of it was open.
The glove and the pad is different though because you watched the puck go into the glove and the glove into the goal. You 100% know the puck is there. Here you don't 100% know the ball is on the ground. That's the difference I'm making. I think your equivalent would be if Gates caught the ball, was wrapped up, then got thrown out of the EZ. You know Gates caight it, you can't see it since the defender wrapped him but since Gates is across the EZ line the ball is too for a TD. I don't think the Gates play today compares to the NHL idea. Doesn't really matter in the end since there was areplay showing the ball on the ground.
What part of I saw it on SNY and it was incomplete doesnt anyone understand. He clearly does not have possession hits ground. Lucky defender didnt intercept it.
On live TV we must have missed a replay or they didn't show it. They showed the inconclusive ones, so by rule it's still a TD. Now others are saying there is a conclusive angle we missed on TV, and it's the right call.
I'd imagine what happened was while reviewing the play the official just assumed it must have hit the ground at some point because the nearest Jet to the ball was Clyde Gates. It's probably in the rule book somewhere that for a pass to be ruled incomplete in a review, you must have conclusive evidence of a lack of possession, or Clyde Gates is the intended receiver.
^^^ Thanks on my computer couldn't see that in real time. The second one isn't good enough by itself, the first one is the conclusive one.
what about the "incomplete" pass milliner forced on edleman? I would have bet any amount of money that it was a fumble- had possession and two feet down...
