He deserved it. That fg at the end of the game was clutch.

Folk is usually pretty clutch. Glad to have him on our side.

The guy has been VERY good since he's been here. He has made every clutch kick, he has never cost us a game at the end, glad to have him.

    Indeed.

I can't help but think of the 'sign Dan Carpenter' guys on an another thread a few weeks ago.

good to see him get recognized

it def felt like we won - we lost - we won at the end ... nice job by Folk staying calm & in the here & now ... he does haved a little movement on many of his kicks though where for just a moment early on it looks like it's swinging wide ... then suddenly swings back towards the middle ... not sure what that is all about ... but i constantly have to warn myself as he's lining it up to not freak out with what i see in the first 20 or 30 feet! :)

The only time Folk makes me nervous is on chip shots. For some reason every now and then he seems to shank those. From 30-50 he's great, however. I could see him delivering a 63 yarder one day.

I was thinking about this the other day. Folks been pretty money for us in clutch situations.

-GW FG in Indy in the AFC Wildcard game
-GW FG against Detroit in '10 in OT
-Drilled a 50+ yarder to win the opening game against Dallas on MNF
-GW FG against TB on Sunday

I honestly can't remember the last FG he missed that was in a 'clutch' situation.

    Well done, Folk. Well done.

I think TB saw the Giants game where he and Cundiff missed kicks when they were being iced. So he thought Folk would just miss the first one. It backfired!

    Good job NF.

Up in Cortlandt I got to ask him how the hip was, he said thanks and that it's completely behind him. The guy gives off a 'determined' (not grim) type of vibe.

Folk as you'll know went from all-pro in Dallas to getting released as a result of coming back from torn hip labirum surgery too soon.

He then auditioned for the Jets later on after giving his hip post-op sufficient rest. Westy liked what he saw and now the Jets are the better for it.

Everyone in Cowboys country hates him. He had issues when the hip was hurt and they were all celebrating when he left and Bailey took over.

I got so many "Fuck Nick Folk" responses after Sept 11, 2011 , that I just can't help bragging to them whenever he kicks a game winner for the Jets.

Bonus: I was watching that game in a house full of Cowboys fans and proclaimed before opening kick-off that Folk would kick the game winner. W00t.

    Cool.
Have him on fantasy (2 teams). Because i didnt/dont think the Jets will get into the endzone very often.

The only bad game that immediately comes to mind for him was @Cleveland in 2010, where I remember him missing at least one in the second half (particularly frustrating because it capped off a 10 minute opening half drive) and, I think, what would have been a GW in OT. It was also really disappointing when he missed against NE in the divisional round following the interception, but thankfully the rest of the game went well and overshadowed the miss.

Otherwise, he's been very solid. Plus he's a direct descendant of the one of the guys who invented Thanksgiving, so he's got that going for him, which is nice.

Capt Clutch gets a well deserved award. When it comes down to a game winner it seems he never "folks up"!
