Boomer was just on cbs and was asked about Chad and the Jets chances today. He said Chad's good play comes to an end today because the Jets will not be able to run the ball. I think that while we may not run the ball well, Chad is still good enough to get the job done with our good receivers. Look for Boomer to take back his comments later tonight.

While we may not be able to run the ball, I really don't think the Pats will be able to pass the ball. They have an atrocious receiving corps now that Branch is gone. While Brady is amazing, his recievers still need to get open. His receivers were awful last week against the Bills, and the Jets secondary create da lot of turnovers last week.

That already happened last week, the Jets not being able to run the ball. And still Chad had a great game. Maybe the Titans decided to stop the run thinking that a QB who was coming back from two shoulder surgeries was going to self-destruct. Not a bad strategy. We now know what happened. Maybe the titans left themselves vulnerable to the pass because they concentrated on stopping the run. It's easy to stop the run. What is hard to do is to stop the run and the pass. We will have to see what happens today.

F Boomer Esiason. We may not run, but I think Chad will get it done in the air again.

Yeah we'll what was which performance was more of a fluke. Pennington's performance or the Pat's pass offense.

What if Barlows hard work pays off and he rushes for 100+? Stranger things have happened.

If Barlow gets substantially more carries than last week I think the Jets will have a decent running game.

No, its more important to prove to ourselves that we have a running game.

I think it depends on how many carries Barlow gets, because Blaylock's stuttersteps will probably result in lots of negative yardage today.

Absolutely. I think Barlow is ready to carry the load. Even though Barlow hadn't gotten as many reps during the preseason you could tell who the more pure runner was.

the reason we couldn't run at Tennessee was because they stacked the "box" with 7 and 8 players, anticipating the run, daring Chad to beat them.

This included 4 linemen and 3 LBs, and sometimes a safety. The LB's and S are on a continuum of being able to drop back after feigning run support, with the advantage to the Jets - if the play is not a run - and especailly if the defenders play close to the line or make their first step towards tje line.

Besides this, it leaves only 3 or 4 DB's all the time. With 3 or 4 receiving targets, a timing passing attack wins that battle all day, and gets a few big plays.

Now, Had Tenn not played the run so devotedly, we'd have been able to run.

If NE stacks the box in a similar way, the same results will occur. but they won't. they'll disguise everything.

not so sure about 80-100 yards from barlow, maybe 100 yards + from blaylock, barlow, and houston/washington/brad smith

but definatly agree with the JETS WIN baby
