Not the kids fault, he was only trying to fit in. Lets also keep in mind that he's only a 7 year old. Parents should have reprimanded him though, bad job on their part.
That's where I step in. Mrs fozzi has explicit instruction to only buy Jets & Mets gear if they want a sports theme shirt. Otherwise I do the purchases. I even put a gigantic Jets fathead (team logo) on thier wall in our second home so its ingrained in them. My oldest daughter favorite color is green. And she's 8. So I think its working. There's o way she is 13. If she's 13 then a) she's got to cut back on the estrogen pills, and b) her parents should be smacked for sending a 13yo & 7yo to a game w/o an adult. Camera chick also seems to be a "younger female" as you can hear her laughing while taking the vid. If she's these kids mother, she deserves a smack as well.
Ah, life in the far reaches of Metlife Stadium's upper deck. Some seats taken, some not. Mix of Jets fans and their opponents'. Screaming kids. Taunting. I'm glad I can remember the old Shea days when it was predominantly men in the seats who paid close attention to the game while nipping from smuggled fifth-bottles while Lou Piccone stood back there in the wind awaiting the punt. Enough fans brought radios that you could hear Marty Glickman's play by play at all times. There was always that smell that was 60% cigar, 10% hotdog, 10% beer, 10% popcorn and 10% piss. Yankee Candle should sell it in a jar named "1977 Shea" Now, we have this.

Agreed with your comment about the parents...TOTALLY disagree with your prior statement. 7 years old is plenty old enough to "own" it. In fact that is the PERFECT age. Fit in my ass...that, too, is also the perfect age to teach that he doesn't need to be a butt head to "fit in". And, if that is what was going on around him...for him to "fit in" then THAT is why I have NEVER taken my kids to a professional football game. Your kind of thinking on the child is why so many kids are idiots, selfish and self absorbed today. We got our asses kicked when we acted like this. Do you have evidence that 1. the parents were at the game, and 2. that they were afraid to talk shit so they asked the kid to? What kind of nonsense is that? What do you think would happen if you were at a Pats home game and a fan was talking crap to you? Would you punch him in the face? Of course not. I work for a child abuse agency who takes kids away from parents for REAL reasons. This is nonsensical and is equivalent to removing a child for stealing a cookie from the cookie jar and lying about it.

i hear you, and i wouldnt say to take the child away from his parents BUT i have no problem with people letting them know they are assholes. both the child and whoever was his guardian on that day. i agree with junc on this, this is the type of thing that if it isnt handled at that age the kid becomes one of those adults.
and the parents do have a role in this even if they werent there. by 7 a child should know better than to be a completely disrespectful douche. the people who have kids taken away being that much worse does not make this a little issue. its one of those things that if widely accepted becomes a problem. i am glad people are up in arms about it. if they just simply didnt care there would be no correction.
This might blow your mind, but kids do not always take the same mentality from when they are young kids into adulthood. I think back to my childhood, and my parents were stern disciplinarians and great parents. I still constantly rebelled and acted the fool and would fight with them all the time, but when I grew up I understood why and became much more easy going. Now we have an extremely close relationship. I used to be hyper as hell, but this is no longer the case. I also know people whose kids always stayed in line and listened to their parents (who were great parents), but became pieces of shit when they became adults. Every kid is an individual. They aren't just clones of their parents. Good parenting goes a long way but kids will sometimes do what they want to do. While the cat's away the mouse will play. It doesn't mean the parents were bad. The kid was probably trolling. Judging the kid and his parents off a 3 minute youtube video is like watching Drew Brees when he threw 5 picks a couple years back and defining his career by it. Does the kid act like this 24/7 or was he just emulating the environment he was in? Did the person making the video tell him to do it, so he could make viral video? There's just too much involved to call the kids parents pieces of shit and call it a day. It's just funny how mad people are getting about this. It's nothing. This happens at every Jets game with ADULTS.
when being brought up in an environment like that kid it's going to be difficult not to turn into one of the nitwit stereotypical NY sports fans. I am not the greatest parent in the world but I guarantee you my kids won't ever look like that kid. it doesn't matter if he acts like that 24/7, clearly he has issues brought on by bad parenting(unless this was some big joke then that is different). It does happen w/ adults who used to act like that kid. The best way to get rid of fans like that is to teach kids at a young age how to behave. Every child will act up but what this kid did went far beyond just acting up. I don't blame him, I blame his parents. hopefully they watch this video and are humiliated into trying top change.

Yeah, this isn't the kid's fault at all. He's mimicking what he's seen around the house or in the parking lot. He learns behavior from what he sees his old man and the tomato doing. If you'll noitice, they think it's cute... they're laughing at his behavior and think it's funny, so he continues. The parents have to be real assholes and unfortunately, this is the kid who grows to become the high school bully and thinks this is the way the world works. Then he winds up digging ditches and wonders why.
