Even though Sanchez is a dead man walking (in terms of his career with the Jets), he was advising Geno the whole game. That's a class act. That's better than what we can say for Brett Favre.

Yea even being at the game I saw this and made a comment to my buddy. He was the first on3 out there on timeouts talking to Geno and rest of team and cheering them on. Very engaged in the game and supporting the team The whole way .

I'm sure it was genuine and I am sure he wants to win but I am also pretty sure he thinks it will be his job again when he is healthy.

Not if Geno keeps playing like he did yesterday and stays healthy. Although he's not such a great QB, Sanchez is pretty smart and may want a career as a backup QB or a coach. His days as a starter are over or numbered. Either way, he's always appeared to be a good teammate. You have to give him credit for that.

For all the ribbing that he gets (some is pretty well-deserved), he's never been a bad teammate and person. He stays out of trouble off the field and never sells any of his teammates short. It's part of the reason that I liked rooting for him. It's pretty likely that his time is up here, but in terms of attitude and how he handled himself, I never had a problem rooting for him to do well.

This - what did you expect him to do? Trash talk the team he ... for the moment is still part of? Don't try and sugar coat a turd.

As stated on TV and here many times, Sanchez isn't done playing football, he's just done here.

Sad. Always liked the kid. I think he would have surprised a lot of people had he started yesterday and this season. He definitely needs a competent OC to be successful and I don't think he ever got the chance to shine here like he could have.

Hopefully he will have success in the NFC.

I'm afraid you may be right. I have a feeling that Sanchez will look decent on whatever team he ends up on.

Yup. He's very easy to root for, despite his shit play. I hope he catches on with another team, preferably in the NFC.

I think the ability is there. I really believe the best thing for him would be sitting out the season (preferably because Geno is playing well), spending the year studying the game from the sideline and film room, and signing with a different team in the off-season. He can be a late bloomer type QB, but continuing to play in the NY meat grinder isn't gonna do him a lot of good.

There's already interest from an NFC team.

The Melbourne Kangaroos are in the North Fork Conference and in desperate need of a QB.

I agree that Sanchez seems to be a decent person, but let's not be naive and believe that he's not auditioning for his next job elsewhere. I think Sanchez absolutely will get another shot to start on another team. It's definitely in his best interest going forward to not be a distraction to the Jets...

He was a good teammate sunday for sure, but I think he's auditioning for a back-up role somewhere else. He could have a long NFL career as a backup QB.

I think he would like that - he could live his bachelor partyboy lifestyle, and be under less pressure. Easier on the body and still make lots of money. Being a supportive teammate is like duty #1 for that job... He'll be just like his buddy Matt Leinart or Rex Grossman.

I'm not trying to be a dick or pile on Sanchez, but is it possible that Sanchez could be giving Geno bad advice (unintentionally) on the sidelines?

In other words, do we really want Geno getting tutelage and suggestions from Sanchez about reading a Defense/making decisions/etc? Sanchez ain't the brightest crayon in the box.
