Simms seems like the anti-sanchez poise, strong arm, and good instincts.

So far, you'd think Simms was the prized rookie.

Hope Rex Ryan uses the Animal House Flounder logic....he's a legacy! Gotta make the team!

That's against the Igles 2nd string...I'll take it...He can only do what he can do against the competition they put him up against. Ce la vie....

That is what I'm saying...I'll rinse and repeat...THIS IS WHAT I EXPECTED TO SEE OUT OF GENO SMITH AS A 2ND ROUND DRAFT PICK....NOT THE UNDRAFTED ROOKIE.

The quality of the defense is irrelevant when it comes to judging his ability to throw a screen pass and hit a guy in stride, or his penchant to pull it down and take a sack rather then throwing the ball up for grabs. Those two qualities alone make him a huge upgrade. He also just played a 1/2 of football without a an INT, another welcome change.

Both Simms and McElroy have that "it" factor. Good instincts, smart and poise in the pocket. They both get the ball out fast. Pretty much the opposite of Sanchez. But Simms has pretty nice physical tools as well as the instincts. He has a cannon arm and what appear to be quick feet.

But they both desperately need game experience. Give either of these guys 8 games and it would be hard to imagine that either would not be a significant upgrade over Sanchez. Although the way McElroy plays without concern for his own physical safety I doubt he could survive 8 games.

If sanchez or geno were playing, the jets would be losing the game so far.
