Whats everyone going to be rocking come gameday...starting to get excited at football again ( especially now Harvey is down!!)..not long to go and tonight is a write off mainly ...so planning my assault on my liver !! I will be getting del of my Yuengling and have the Woodford for the 4th qtr blues.......with door locked firmly on my man cave to keep out inane questions from the girlfriend!! Food will be a choice between wings , meatball hero and chilli fries....carbs and fat all the way!! I know its a week plus but come on....we all know this takes planning and its mainly what I am looking forward to!
Unfortunately this season I'll probably be working most game days...but there's plenty of tv sets with all the games on and they do feed us poor bastards. They do have a strict BYOB policy though...
Drink: I'm not too picky with beer so I'll drink whatever or I'll go for a few rye and gingers (preferably Jameson Whiskey but again not too picky) Food: honestly I only really go nuts on food for the Super Bowl (wings, chili, pulled pork, chips, etc. etc.), typically I just eat normal stuff for game days unless I'm going to the bar to watch it. If I am at the bar though I'm going for wings all the way. I elect my answer for probably most boring in this thread
If I'm watching alone I'll pick up a cheesesteak from this joint called Lospadas near my house. I drink cheap also; lately I've been getting Magic Hat #9. If I have company I'll smoke some ribs and fill my keg up with this ridiculous strawberry-cactus microbrew this independent brewer near me makes.
Mrs Fozzi is usually cooking up some pasta so if the game is at 1, we eat at halftime. If its at 4, we eat before. I watch the game alone in my basement, so I can come on this site without My Little Ponys or Moshi monsters dancing on me while the game is on... :/
My new found favorite beer: Tsingtao And... a bucket of fried chicken. [Popeyes chicken is really good.] And... Pizza And a few buckets of chips and dips
Being newly transplanted from NJ to the west coast, this aspect of fandom is now totally F*CKED UP for me now. Pregame shows start at 9AM, games at 10. Bars generally serve eggs and toast around here to accommodate people. Instead of beer or hard liquor, people will frequently mix up bloody marys to start gameday. I have a whole lot of figuring out to do. Can anyone on the west coast offer up their own routine or suggestions?
Heineken, wings, pigs in blanket, potato skins, mozzarella sticks. If the game starts getting ugly It's Absolute Martini's and a rib eye. Just so I can't remember anything in the morning. As you can probably see I'm retired.
Burgers, pizza, wings, chips, BBQ. Looks like I've have the Sunday night shift 9pm-3am(as opposed to last year working 12-9, worst hours possible for NFL Sundays). I'm a bartender, so of course there is a TV with the game on in every direction I look.
I wish I had 1 for ya ..I too am from Jersey and now living in 110 degree everyday-Burnt Scrotum Arizona. Where canned spaghetti with hot dogs is considered Italian food, and the pizza would gag a maggot off a shit wagon. The chicken joints deep fry in some kinda oil that smells like burnt tranny fluid. I'll prolly havta BBq ribs or something...if i get up in time cause like ya said...games at 10am here too.
This and Nachos for me too. Steak and Chicken from a nice play down the street. This is opening day. If the season goes well, the food stays like this. IF the season goes bad, more simple stuff like pretzels, chips, and easy stuff like that.
if i am tailgating: shots of crown royals and summer ales or oktoberfest beers for drinks food: grill burgers, chicken sausages, hot dogs if people want if i am home: no shots, just beers mentioned above chips / dips and wings
