Jeesh, geno must be worse than I thought, bringing in Leinart to work out, and learn this offense in a week or two?

Honestly as ridiculous as it is, Matt Simms seems the most game ready QB on the roster.

Sounds like this source has confused Leinert and Beck working out with the Bills not Jets.

Costello said they denied the Leinart rumor but didn't mention Beck and nothing on the Jets official twitter

Not that I put much into the rumor since they would have waited for the MRI to be done this morning and Rex and Idzik would have met after that to discuss the MRI and the next step.
Just doesn't seem like there was time for it all to play out.

So the injury to Sanchez wasn't serious?

    Better luck next time.

More nonsense..what it shows is they have no confidence in Simms and McElrory to be the backup.

Correction: Smith is a worse version of Leinert who is worse than Sanchez

McElroy is banged up too. They might need another QB just for next weeks game.

I agree. Although Geno's performance was NOT what I had hoped for, we all know Sanchez is mediocre at best and really not good enough to elevate the team to the playoffs so why not play Geno? If he stinks it up Idzik knows he has to draft (or trade) for a QB.

This injury will likely cause Mark to play like a scared little girl this season. Should be painfully amusing to watch.

ralph vacchiano is a terrible source of information. even his employer - sirius nfl is totally backing off this report... believing what these guys tweet and report is not very wise. often times they don't know anything and are merely regurgitating rumors or fabricating rumors.

That was simply a pathetic comment. No Jet fan or even football fan would wish an injury to a player, especially to a member or your team.

Interesting that it is 3PM and we still haven't heard a word. I guess that either means it was nothing to begin with and not worthy of news release or it is something serious and they are trying to figure out exactly what they are going to say..I guess a third option would be they went to the hospital and it was closed.

i don't think its that serious. hoping that mark is okay and hoping that he sets the record straight on the cimini rumor that he didn't want to come in the game.

he was throwing the ball on the sideline after he was hit and before they iced him up so i am guessing he doesn't have a serious injury.

He grabbed his right shoulder -- his throwing shoulder -- and winced in pain. He came to the sideline and was examined, trying to shake off the pain but mostly failing. Then he angrily took off his helmet, unfastening the chinstrap with his left hand. He couldn't raise his right arm to take off his jersey and shoulder pads, needing help from others to remove his equipment.
