I didn't see this posted. www.nj.com Ex-Jets coach Herm Edwards said he was happy for his former players -- in particular Pennington -- after their season-opening victory over the Titans. "For them to win like that. I feel good for all those guys," Edwards told reporters in Kansas City yesterday. "There's some class guys on that football team, especially the quarterback. He's a special guy."
What else is he gonna say? Come to think of it.... He could've easily said that He is no longer the coach and can't think about us blah blah..... One thing about Herm. He may not be the greatest coach on earth but he Is a Good guy. Maybe a little Over the top but still a good guy.
Hey Herm, If they are all class guys, then why did you weasel yourself away from them. Get bent Herm!
Let Herm keep the love. If Chad has a great season, we could easily get a 1st rounder from the Chiefs for Chad. Green is like 100 years old, and after the hit this weekend, is not long for this league. Then we start the Clemens era with an extra 1st round pick. I like Chad a ton, but that scenario would be pretty sweet too.
Are you sure about that? Since when did blaming your coordinators, deserting your kicker, selling out your owner and alleged friend GM that hired you and bolting to another team all the while claiming you're not interested in the other team become hallmarks of being a good guy?
I'm glad to see you're happy for your former "family" which you stabbed in the back and left for greener pastures, or so you thought.
Yes, he is a good guy. I would love to have him over for dinner and sit and talk about football, but I would not want him coaching my team.
How are the situations alike? Brees was in the last year of his contract, chad isn't. Rivers was a high first round pick with a huge contract, it would be tough to trade him, and he needed to start playing soon. Clemens was a 2nd rounder. And just becasue the Chargers let a pro bowl QB go doesn't make it the right call. We'll see if it works out, but imo it was a bad move. The proven player should play, and if Chad has a great year, he should come back next season as the starter.
I'm not a Herm supporter but come on already. There are a multitude of reasons to bash Herm and wish failure upon him but for goodness sakes this isnt one of them. Nothing wrong with him being happy for Chad and the Jets and showed some class. Great. Leave it at that.
And let's not forget that Brees had the best RB and TE in the league on his team. I personally don't think much of Brees, he's walked into another good situation with the Saints, but he's probably going to stink anyway.
