Such little faith. This team was 6-10 last year? How have we gotten that much worse in one season? I would love to hear that one.

2012 - vs AFC South , NFC West (2 wins each)

2013 vs AFC North , NFC South (Lucky if 1 win each)

    At best: 9-7
    Most likely: 7-9

    I'd be happy with 8-8.
Can't imagine we're worse than 6-10 (although ending up 6-10 wouldn't be all that out of the question, just not 5-11 or worse).

I'm not sure how anyone can look at any game on our schedule and say "oh there's a W". every team that plays is looking at the jets on their schedule and penciling in a W also

  5. I say 7-9. Alot of early leads blown late against better opponents. That's the way young teams play.

That said..if the DL dominates like the way they appear to in practicethis team could be awfully hard to stop.A dominant interior rush w/o blitzing will lead to a ton of forced turnovers to go along w/ 3 & outs/other big plays. You can bet Brady will struggle against this rush

How do you chalk the NFC south as 1 win if lucky? Sure the Falcons will probably beat us on MNF in Atlanta, but the Panthers? The Bucs? Those are not quality teams by any measure. Even with Sean Payton back, the Saints defense is still void of any quality play makers. You think Kenny Vaccaro is really going to make major improvements to that pass defense? I don't.

Vs The Bucs - W. I read that Revis isn't playing in preseason, so you know the Jets are going to make him sprint the length of the field to test that hammy. I think we win boggle down Doug Martin and keep this one close, then win it in the end with some ground and pound.

At The Patriots - L. This being the NE home opener, I think they'll win a close game.

Vs The Bills - W. Bills suck.

At The Titans - W. Titans suck.

At The Falcons - L. Our offense just doesn't have the firepower to keep up with their horses.

Vs The Steelers - W. I see the Steelers having a down year, winning maybe 5 games. If our pass rush can get to Ben, which I think they can, we can beat them. The Steeler defense hasn't been that great, their OL is whatever and they don't have a running back that will keep you up at night.

Vs The Patriots - L. Just because I know this team too well.

At The Bengals - L. THe Bengals are probably a Top 3 team in the AFC this season.

Vs The Saints - W. The Saints on the road in November is a different team than the Saints at home.

At The Bills - W. Fuck the Bills.

At The Ravens - W. I see this as being the typical "feels good to win a SB" year for the Ravens. Big contracts, big injuries, the fan base is still lamenting about the SB run... 6-8 Ws at most for the Ravens

Vs The Dolphins - W. I love that we don't play them until the winter. I love how the Dolphins are building a vertical passing attack with a mediocre QB.

Vs The Raiders - W. The Raiders are the WC Bills.

At The Panthers - W. At this point, Cam Newton might quit the team and try to sign with the Heat.

Vs The Browns - W. Browns are going to be tough, they're basically a poor man's version of our team. I think we win this one because it's at our house.

At The Dolphins - W. Fuck the Fish.

12-4, tied for the best record in the division but get the WC because we lost to the Pats. Beat their ass in the playoffs and make a run!

we easily have the worst offense in the league. our defense is solid and may be able to steal us some games against the browns, panthers, bills, raiders, phins. its impossible to look at our schedule and our roster and predict more than 5-6 wins

This is the scenario where Sanchez starts until the ravens game and then we put Geno in for the rest of the season? Sounds about right.

No. He's right. I have them blowing a game or two along the way, but a 65% chance they steak the first game against the Pats.

Probably more now, with Gronk,Hernandez, And Welker gone or out.

I know I know, but here's where I'm coming from: last year we sucked. I mean, totally completely SUCKED. We had no OC, our QB was basically waiting to be hit and we lost our best player on offense and defense to season ending injury.

With that said, we still won 6 games.

Now I look at this year's team, I see improvement across the board.

QB - Sanchez 13 can't be worse than Sanchez 12, if he is, then it's Geno time. This is a marginal improvement, but an improvement none the less. At the very least, this position in-it-of-itself is not worse than last year.

RB - Powell/Goodson(?)/Ivory(?)/McKnight(??) is better than Shonn Greene/Powell. In fact, Powell was hands down better than Greene last year. Why Greene got more carries as the season went on, who the hell knows. I'm being very reserved and have Powell as the starter because neither Ivory nor Goodson practiced yet. At the very worst, this is addition by subtraction. If Ivory gets his 15 carries per game, forget about it.

WR - I don't know if Holmes is going to play at all this season, but it's not a big difference from 2012 since he only played 3 and a half games. However, with BE in town for a full season + the continued development of Kerley, Gates and Hill, this isn't as terrible of a unit as people make it out to be. No this isn't going to be the 99 Rams, but you're looking at some young, athletic guys who can all get open and all get good YAC.

OL - This is probably the biggest improvement in my eyes. We got rid of Slauson and Moore. I know, I know, everyone loved Slauson and Moore. BUT, and this is a big BUT, statistically, when Ducasse came in for Slauson, the Jets were the same passing the ball and BETTER at running the ball. This is with VLAD DUCASSE taking reps for Slauson. Now I can tell you right now, Winters is already better than Ducasse and a healthy Willie Colon is head and shoulders above the 2012 version of Moore. When you compound this with the sudden depth of the OL (Aboushi, Peterson and Ducasse), you're looking at a tank of a unit. Considering that this is going to be a running team, I'm very excited to see what we can do.

On defense, we got younger and faster at all 3 levels. The only negative impact is that L Landry is now replaced by his older brother. I always felt LL was over rated. He was a liability in coverage and got a big rep for his hits. I'm not counting the Revis trade as a negative either, he only played 2 games. 2013 secondary is going to be better than 2012 because Milliner is going to be better than Revis on IR. I don't think I have to make an argument for the LBer corp because me and you are probably better than Scott and BT were last year. Up front, the DL is probably going to be our best unit with Wilk, Ellis and Richardson.

The two biggest factors that are going to make us a fuckton better than in 2012: Marty and the schedule.

Marty is an obvious upgrade over that shit head Sparano. For starters, he's an actual OC. The WR unit, mainly Kerley, Holmes and Gates are perfect for the WC. If he can somehow limit Sanchez's turnover (or figure out a way to get Geno to get rid of the ball faster than he has been in camp), this might be the first time in almost a decade where our offense actually has a gameplan.

Finally, our schedule is so much more friendlier than last year. No WC trips at all! Miami in the winter both times! Aside from the Fish, none of your opponents got stronger.

If last year was rockbottom at 6 Ws, then if things fall into place, the Jets can be right back in the thick of things come January.

Had...lthe worst offense in tje league. Run by a guy who isnt an OC, and with the #1 TE,#1WR, and # 2 WR missing 30 games.

    Big difference this year.

Sums it up, about the way I see it. I had them at 11-5 for all those reasons, but give them a great chance to steal the Thursday night game against the Pats.

I just figure they will, as all teams do, blow a game or two, one divisional, one not.
