When you're stuck on the bike while Spadola tears up camp and Rogers looks like he might stick it really screws you up. White was an interesting candidate from a polish vs tools perspective. Unfortunately he had to be on the field to show the polish because the guys with the tools were flashing all over the place.
White definitely has skills ... its unfortunate he couldn't stay healthy. I really expected him to make a splash.
Best thing that could happen to us at the WR position is that Holmes injury lingers & we put him on IR. That way we could possibly keep 2 of Rogers, Spadola & Hazelton. It might even be time to consider cutting Holmes outright?
It costs the Jets an additional $2.25M against the 2013 cap to cut Holmes right now. He's going to be $11.25M against the cap in that scenario. The cap is still very tight this year. The way the Jets look right now is making us all forget that they are cap-strung this year and hobbling from a talent perspective as a result of that. He caught my eye on Friday and especially on Saturday catching McElroy's bomb with a falling back, leaping effort--heck of a play. While slightly built, he did have a couple of catches on Saturday and on Friday had a great over-the-wrong-shoulder "adjustment" catch of a bomb (was called back because of a penalty). It's very early so who knows how anything's going to flush out. But given Holmes injury I wouldn't be surprised to see one of these UDFA's making the roster.
