Dr. Z has always liked us. I think he might be a fan. I'm actually not surprised he picked us.

He was a long-time Jets beat writer, and I believe he's STILL the Jets' elector to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Yeah there's no question he loves the Jets. His funniest stories all come out of his days as a beat writer in the 60's and early 70's.

Of course he got hired at SI because they liked how he covered the Namath-era Jets so he must have some very good memories of that relationship.

I think I remeber reading that use to send him out to the bars with namath.

Namath like his johnny walker red and his women blond.

Look it, you just can't have it both ways. I can't even possibly count the number of times that you guys have bashed the media, including Z.

You call them all sorts of names and repeatedly say how stupid they are and how they don't know anything. Now, whyen they pick you, they are smart and it is a good call.

All that said, I am picking the Jets to beat us this Sunday. I just have a feeling. Could be wrong, but after I watched your game on TiVo last night and was impressed with how good your passing game looked with Penny.

Your running game left something to be desired though. I see it coming down to the kickers. Rough start for yours, a rookie for us. I think I am going with the Jets for an upset.

You, my friend, know how it's done. Never go on record picking your team, and you never worry about jinxing them!

For some reason, I also have it set in my head that Zimmerman had a lesser role in the Serby-Todd locker incident, but I can't confirm that. I could be wrong. That was after he moved to SI, but was he there and had some minor part in that glorious piece of work, or something?
