Ok point, I was just trying to drive home my dislike for his contract. He is a a good #2 receiver on any team. Not a #1 and not deserving of his heavy front loaded contract. Where he is double teamed, he is fucked. When the going gets tough, he quits. I don't like his style, I don't care for his attitude and I look forward to the day he is gone. We agree to disagree, but never knock me on my fanhood
Fair enough. I don't like Holmes contract either. Nor do I think he's a #1 WR. I just don't relate w/ the hatred for a player I feel is still a playmaker despite his imperfections. It's all good..no hard feelings.
I want to see us run the football effectively again. Where we run the football we open the door for great success on offense. I saw some things in Powell last season, and I'm excited to see Ivory and Goodson (if he's not incarcerated). Run, run, run, run, run, Play action Bomb one down the sideline. A game of possession that works in favor of our defense. Rex, "Ground 'n Pound". Why don't we get it yet?
It's a myth that the Jets have great success on offense when they run the ball effectively. The facts are that the Jets become an average offense when they run the ball effectively, nothing more than that. The year they had a HoF bound QB and ran the ball effectively they had great success on offense until near the end of the year. If the Jets run the ball very effectively next year and that's what the offense is predicated on they'll finish 16th overall and about 150 points behind the leading scoring team.
I have a feeling that Idzik will bring that continuity to the table. Tanny always went and got these flashy free agents that you know would cry for large contracts the second they get success. Idzik seems like he likes getting humble serviceable guys on his roster and will spend money where it is worth. (All speculation though)
