This is going to be a HUGE topic now. Bosh finished game 7 with 0 points. I think his days in a Heat uniform are numbered. Wade is getting older and older and his body is clearly showing it. I will give it to him though, he stepped up BIG these past few games. The question becomes, does he still have enough left in him to go through a grueling season again with 2 bad knees.

Lebron James. Clearly the best player in the NBA and making a HUGE case for the best to ever live. The question becomes, does he stay in Miami with an aging Wade and overpaid under-producing Bosh, or does he leave and go somewhere else in search of another ring? He has the option to opt out of his contract after next season. What do you all think he will do?

What is your obsession with LeBron? :) The hell with him. I think he will go back to Cleveland but who cares.

It's not an obsession. It's respect and love toward a guy who has taken basketball to a totally different level. People may hate him, but I like him as a person and even more as a player. Have met him numerous times and he impressed me every single time.

It's the same love people had for Jordan.

How can you respect him or like him as a person ?

Hes the antithesis of a hero, and is the opposite of everything an athlete should be.

I hate when people mention Jordan's name anywhere even remotely near his.

Its like mentioning Tony Gonzalez and Aaron Hernandez in the same paragraph

The Heat just won back to back championships. He's not leaving. In fact I'd bet that the team will be near identical next season, except perhaps Bosh and some of the older role players. I see Wade, Allen and James staying. Cole is the future. Chalmers, Miller and Battier are questionable to stay. Nobody just packs up and leaves a team after winning an NBA title. If he does, then he's a real asshole because you know Riley is going to do whatever it takes to keep him. If that means shuffling around staff, he'll do it.

Jackass comment. The only thing I see from this post is that you apparently don't know anything about LeBron James.

I'm not a Heat fan or a Lebron fan, I am a rival fan actually (Knicks)

But by all accounts, the guy is a class act and a family man off the court. He's also a tireless worker on the court and the guy eats, drinks and sleeps basketball. Not only is a tremendous player, but he's a leader in the clubhouse and plays the game unselfishly.

You could make a better argument that he is exactly what an athlete should be, rather than the opposite!

The fact that he left Cleveland in Free Agency gives him a bad rap in many circles, but come on man.. How does that make him "the anti-thesis of a hero" or put him on the level of a guy being seriously accused of murder?? So stupid.

If you compare the two, Jordan and Lebron and their off court stories and personas, MJ comes off as more of a jerk and lousy guy. Granted that has nothing to do with analyzing his on the court play, but I see why so many people root for Lebron or like Lebron and want him to win.

Jordan looked like the total class act by the time he retired. It was only years later that the dirt started to surface. I'd bet that same thing happens with this asshole.

I never understood all the hysteria that the Heat have to break up the team to win going forward. they have been to three straight Finals and are back to back championships. despite their deficiencies they are good enough to win it all, so there is no justification for the argument that the team cannot win as comprised.

I mean, people were spouting this nonsense during the NBA finals.

He isn't going anywhere. Bosh may be overpaid, but he is perfect for the team. and when his contract is up he will likely stay, but at a reduced price, so James will still have him plus cap freedom from his reduced salary to get other players. Wade is getting older and will be gone soon, but what he provides can be replaced.

Really?!? Everyone knew that MJ was a degenerate gambler while he was still playing, if the Bulls were playing the Lakers/Clippers in LA and had a day off he would jet off to Vegas to hit the casinos and there's the late night poker games during in Barcelona during the Dream Team where he would keep Barkley and others up til sunrise.

There's also the conspiracy theory that the reason he really went to play baseball for two years was cuz Stern was going to ban him for a year because they caught him betting on basketball games. So lets not make him a saint, the only real dirt that came out after he retired was that he was cheating on his wife.

LOL. What is wrong with gambling in your free time? People act like that is sooooo evil! I still maintain my job just fine and I sometimes play poker games until sunrise. Who cares? If it doesn't effect your job, then enjoy your life. Damn.

Sounds like a whole bunch of speculative nonsense to me. If the NBA was going to accuse him of gambling on basketball games, why would staying away for a year change that?

LOL "degenerate gambler"? Is that really what you consider a marred reputation? Jetting to Vegas (where gambling is legal) to play cards? Gambling with other players? Did your dad lose your house to the horses or something?

And this is the first I have heard about the Stern thing. Did that happen to surface before, or after Jordan retired? And what is the basis of it, if any?

Jordan was pretty much squeaky clean by the time he retired. Shit that you learned on the internet years afterward is just that - shit that you learned years afterward. Unless you can provide something legitimate to back it up.

Because, apparently "everyone" found it out somehow, right?

Why are so many in such a rush to declare LeBron as good as or better than Jordan? A day may come when that comparison is appropriate, but people REALLY need to relax on that.

I don't know about that man. I think Jordan's rep was aided by the fact that the internet wasn't like it is today and that the smaller (in amount) media wanted to protect his rep.

Media outlets, both major and small/dubious, would salivate at the opportunity to expose Lebron James if he was the asshole that you are betting he is.

He's squeaky clean, I bet. A suprise in this day and age, but he is.

That's what I mean by reputation. It's an outside measurement of the perception of a person.

Now we know about Jordan. But we didn't then.

And don't fool yourself about the media's coverage of Lebron. They are building him into an icon. Just like they did with Jordan. That means all the more of a payoff when they get to knock him down.

Don't think that there aren't sports network producers holding onto pieces of juicy information about the guy so they can release it all at once to get their next promotion.

It'll happen. It always does. Especially with ego-trippers like "The Chosen One."

As much as Cleveland hates his guts, if he was willing to come back, I think all would be forgiven.

I used to think like that until I saw him carry the Heat to back to back titles the last few years. His game 7 shows why he isn't what you say. I thought the way he left Cleveland was ridiculous but I think he knows that and he seems to regret what he did not leaving the Cavs but the way he did. He's got much more substance to him tahn Jordan did and even though I don't think Lebron approaches what Jordan could do on the court (Jordan never would have turned the ball over twice or thrown up 2 bricks like LeBron did in the last few minutes of game 6) the guy is a great player and maybe will be a top 5 guy when it's all said and done. I also don't like teh compairisons to Jordan because LeBron's game reminds me much more of Magic's or Bird's although obviously much more athletic than Bird. The guy is a brilliant passer, incredible rebounder and great defender. He could probably play center if Miami needed him to.

I think Wade is much easier to dislike than LeBron and Bosh is also a really likeable guy. People hate on LeBron based on the way he did Cleveland and I certainly don't respect him for doing it because Bosh very easily could have come to Cleveland but he had no intention on staying there and he could have let them know that very early in the process so they could have moved on but the guy is the best player in the NBA right now and it really isn't even close.

If Miami wins a 3rd in a row this year, he will stay and go for 4. If he loses, I can definitely see him opting out at the end of this season.
