Good stuff, hopefully this season the D will perform exceptionally well & our offense will improve, oh well here's for wishing :/
I trust in Rex big time and I am very happy that he will call the defensive plays. I am not expecting Jets defense to be Top 3 but I will take Top 5 in a heart beat. If offense puts average numbers on the board, the Jets will win more than 8 imho.
We have a pretty good young defense we are building. I still think the LB'r position is a question mark but I like the direction we're going.
Finally, the Jets get a sloppy BJ from the sports media... And...from an astute analyst...Brooks has been pretty good....
Excellent defensive breakdown. It help for me (read elderly, lol) to see things slowed down in order to understand what's being seen on the field by the players. Thanx for the post/explanation...
LTJF.....i love you man....thanks for the pick-me-up-post! First time in a month I came here and didn't leave depressed and pissed off. Now if Rex can find a way to slow Tebow down we win the division!
i think we all have been expecting the defense to be upper-echelon this year...but this is a nice juicy mouthful of substance. thank you! i did think on that first play the cardinals rb just missed his block though
This is a good write up. The pictures help learn more about what Rex does. Also shows you how awesome some of the better QBs have to be in studying and reacting to Rex's formations and knowing what is coming.
It also helps show the type of shit our qbs are worrying about every snap even though they will rarely see it.
Awesome post, LJF! I can't wait to see what Rex will be able to do with the talent on D this year. We clearly had more success with heavier blitzing in 09 and 10. Revis was also a huge part of that. We'll see how flexible Rex can really be this year. If Milliner pans out and Wilson contributes along with CroBowl, we might just be able to pull it off.
I mostly miss the ability to shut down teams' running game. I honestly don't think they have the personnel to do it. In 09 they had LBs that were able to seal the edges and were quick in the box. But please Jets go ahead and prove me wrong.
Nice read, I also am thinking this defense will surprise this year. Personally I think Richardson having a above average rookie season will be the key to how well the defense performs. Also the LB's are another critical factor, with the lack of speed at this position last year we missed so many sacks by a step.
IF we get some lucky breaks......like Sanchez's leg. AND, our 2 first rounders play to their ability we could make the playoffs with 10 wins.
