Decreasing likelihood 1. Kyle Wilson (read that he had a really good offseason) 2. Demario Davis 3. Hayden Smith 4. Jeff Cumberland 5. Jaiquawn Jarrett I also thing Antwan Barnes is gonna have a good year. More of a comeback than a breakout though. Smith/Cumberland was kinda tricky. Smith has potential to be great, but you never know with new players like him. Cumberland is more likely to step up, but I don't know if I see him being substantially better than he already is. Hope I'm wrong though.
Dolphin fan here, usually just check out your site to find out about what the fanbase thnks of their young players, interesting thread.. Well, there are four players you guys have that I absolutely love and I think 2 of them are sure fire probowlers, the other not to far behind, and the other, well, he's a long shot that I believe will make your team and contribute. I'm a draft geek so I have watched a lot of reps, I had Dion Jordan, Sheldon Richardson Dee Milliner as my top 3 defenders in the draft..Dion and Sheldon were more like 1a 1b, if I had to choose it was Dion but Sheldon was right there the whole time, and imo was underrated in this draft, no way would I have taken Ansah or Mingo (hell no) over Richardson, he's a special football player with movement skills that I believe are unprecedented for a man this size, I won't go into too much detail but I will say he moves like a linebacker, forward and backward, and he's 300 lbs of relentlessness, suddenness, and nastiness, (kid has swagger)The only reason I'm not miserable is because I feel we got a great prospect as well, both of them and Milliner I had as blue chip prospects. Not even jet fans have a higher regard than I did for Darrelle Revis, Im on the record saying he's the best corner Ive ever studied, and promoted us going after him early in his rehab, because I thought what transpired a month ago, was gonna happen. I believe y'all are gonna take a hit on that, and to this day I don't understand the move for a player like that in his prime, but, drafting Dee milliner is such a great prospect that it should ease that pain eventually, but never quite fully..He's really worth a top 10 selection, has great range, length, and agility, and when he does get his hands on the ball, he's got major rac skills..Complete corner with shutdown ability. Chris Ivory..on the site im a member of, I started threads about aquiring him since last preseason, young beast he is with a violent nature when he's got the ball, for a fourth???, that sucks ass for me..huge upgrade for y'all imo.. Zach Rogers..When studying Cordarelle Patterson and Justin hunter (don't like Patterson) I kept crossing Rogers, so then I isolated him, he's a good player that reminds me of Lance Moore, who I think is incredible underrated..I think he makes your squad outright. Richardson and Dion will battle it out for DPOY. With both having a chance to be special. I hope Coples sticks to his lazy routine, sorry, had to take that one little shot..peace..
Those are his career stats over his first two seasons. http://m.pfref.com/m?p=XXplayersXXKXXKerlJe00.htm He did have a very good year last season regardless, but could really break out in the right offense with a legit qb to get him the ball. Sent from my Galaxy S4 via Tapatalk
Good post sir.. i agree with most. but i don't think Coples will go the lazy route anymore after he was put on blast by his coach. He know's Rex see's how special he is,and he know's he let Rex down. he is doing everything to be a break out player... Look out for big 98 !
He had some pretty serious concerns stemming from college as well though, the thing is, if you don't respect the process of betterting yourself thru the science of training for your craft, it imo, lessens your chances greatly of ever becoming a great player ya know? I know that he got called out, and that he was overweight, and that was fairly recently, which means he let a lot of time go by before he had to be put on notice, you think he's changed or going thru the motions?
when was he overweight? I don't remember hearing that. as far as being called out, he had an off day in the weight room and rex took it as an opportunity to motivate him. if you really read the interview rex says he told coples he was going to get him every chance he can. he saw his chance and took a shot at him. don't make it out like coples was just loafing all off season and is a fat p.o.s. the predraft concerns were way out of line. unc had just gone through a major investigation and the coaching staff he came to play for was gone. he was moved to another position and trying to get familiar with a new coaching staff.
So you don't take what Ryan said as a reflection of his work ethic this offseason even though in college there were red flags about him taking plays off, I don't think a coach puts a player on notice publicly if it was just about one play?? I know that the incident involved a play from practice where he could of given better effort, but those were the red flags coming out from college as well.. ???, where do you think you guys are gonna play the beast that is Sheldon Richardson, imo he can play the three without question and become a probowler, but he also could bring something interesting at the 5??, do you have a front 7 projection?
I have not heard anything about him being overweight. I seen that he wants to go down to 280-285, but at 290 he's not overweight for his size, for his position yeah but you cnt drop 10 pounds days after having your position changed. I know that he got the bad rep in college, but seeing him in interviews and his twitter, it looks like he's working hard. Rex called him out for one day of poor weight lifting, not for being lazy. I sure hope that he's working hard, the kid has all the potential in the world.
Very interesting and well informed analysis on the players above. Excellent depth of knowledge Is evident. Nice post
as far as coples. dont take a headline or teaser from the nydn as what actually is happening. they are horrible about insinuating something that was never said or a quote out of context. coples is got a raw deal coming out of college with the lazy tag.there are not too many fans concerned with it. as far as sheldon goes. rex will have him everywhere. he will play 5 in a 3-4,some nt, some 3 tech.maybe even 4-3 de in big packages. rex likes his lineman versatile and he has 3 guys now that came play almost anywhere on the line. this will be one of the most interchangeable defenses we have seen in a while
do you think that was part of the criticism??, that because he is changing positions he needs to drop that 10 to 15 and Rex hadn't seen it yet?
We're not quite sure what our coordinator Coyle is gonna do with Jordan, maybe both, run downs at linebacker then come down to the end and rush on third down.. I know you guys as a majority really wanted Jordan, but I would bet money on Sheldon becoming just as good.. Our young player Vernon Olivier seems to have taken a jump, so he might be starting at end opposite of wake, Odrick moving inside where he's more effective is an option as well, we have some heavy competition ( Starks) on that dline because of the payers versatility, kinda like your line, vernon is incredibly strong and stout against the run, average pass rusher at this point, but he's relentless, so were hoping that wake can tutor these young prospects up, Jordan included. What was the reasoning behind the Coples to linebacker switch?
We're all well aware of what the likes of Wilkerson, Kerley and Wilson are capable of, so... Quinton Coples. DeMario Davis. Stephen Hill. Kenrick Ellis. Joe McKnight (With a solid offensive coordinator look for us to utilize his talents within the 'open field'. Vladimir Ducasse (Kid came into the league as a project. Heading into his 4th season it's do or die time for Vlad). Weird feeling that Chris Ivory will emerge as an NFL animal. Love his style of rushing coming out of the backfield. Strong addition.
