I tell you AM if he plays every game the way he played in the playoffs he eventually will be one of the top power forwards in the league...those classic body checks are some of the best I have ever seen
nope. He'll bolt. Friendly wager? If Mess stays and is AV's bithc, Ill sport a Hagelin avi for a month....you can sport an MDZ one
Your opinion, my opinion, who wins, I don't do bets...couldn't look at Delpozo-aster for a whole month...
Vigneault .. meh. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nhl/sto...-vigneault-next-coach-new-york-rangers-source
Louis Jean @LouisJean_TVA 6m According to source, Alain Vigneault has agreed to 5-year deal w/ #Rangers. Told it's in the $2 Million per year range. #NHL
I'm sure they'll sell it as such, but I just don't believe Vigneault was their man all along. I think they got stuck and had to take the best of the rest. Ideally, I think they would have liked to get a good look at Tippett and see if they could bring him in this time around. Idk how I feel about Alain. I don't doubt that offensively they'll get a shot it the arm (how could it be any worse) but I don't know how much I'm going to like that they'll lose a lot of that tough identity they especially took pride in two seasons ago.
If torts lands the Vancouver job we are going to find out a lot about both teams and both coaches next year. My bet is the Canucks fare better.
No. Vigneault is a better coach than Tortorella, and there's no way that players like the Sedins, Ryan Kesler and Kevin Bieksa are going to perform better with Tortorella's cuntitude behind them. My bet would be that it will be an unmitigated disaster - the only place his style has a chance at working is with a young basement-dwelling team where no-one's really in a position to complain about his behaviour. Walking into a team of well paid stars like Vancouver and acting the prick is an approach virtually guaranteed to fail.
Vigneault had one serious meeting with Dallas and the Rangers immediately flew him to NYC to meet with Dolan and get a contract offer. If he wasn't their top choice, he was pretty fucking close.
If Tortorella realizes it's 2013 and not 2003 anymore, they very well might. But their core is on the down side and they don't have much in the pipeline. They could very well be a lottery team within two years, regardless of who their coach is. Whichever goalie they trade, they're going to have to get a franchise prospect back.
