If he pulls that conservative crap with those fans who are used to seeing some shots downfield,he a goner. I hope not though,I want to watch him fail and piss them off for a few years.
I had said 2 years but now with Green down at least thru the Chiefs bye week he will get a pass for this year since they will have a ready excuse "we were playing without our QB". Most likely Herm hiring will result in Pedersen firing just like what happen to dumbway here
H'mm if I remember correctly you were of the posters that attcked me for my views on Herm or did you forget. so now you have gone from a Herm lover to a Herm hater is that correct?
perfect weekend. the blameshifter is already in midseason form. he has to be the greratest bull-sh*ter of all-time. In fact it ought to restore faith for those folks that feel that they are unqualified for their jobs. Imean look how far Herm has gotten with virtually no coaching ability whatsoever.
I'm happy Herm is no longer the HC but personally I always kind of liked him. Herm was way over his head but I always thought he was a good guy and a decent man. It's never easy or nice to be fired or have to extract yourself from an employment contract, having been there I know. My beef with Herm was always his ability to be a HC. It's nice to see my opinion of Herm as a week HC validated, on the other hand I'm not very proud that my own validation comes at the expense of a pretty decent and nice man like Herm. It's kind of strange me saying that because I was pretty vocal in my none support of Herm as a HC. I think a lot of the Herm supporters feel betrayed by Herm. We are fans and it's a business besides a sport. Business isn't always pretty and certainly the lines of ethical behavior are rarely black and white and usually grey at best. Deep down I don't believe Herm will be a successful HC however I do wish him well and I don't take any of what happened last year personally.
It was a rookie mistake, and I think what we're seeing now is an atonement for that mistake... Woody is probably going to be the Jets owner for a very long time so it's a good thing he got it out of his system the first time around. If Mangini pans out I'm willing to give Woody a pass on Herm.
LMMFAO!!!!! how true... on a side note, my best friend took LJ with the second pick of our fantasy football pay league. i told him not to, because there was a certain guy in charge at KC, but he went with it. not only will i laugh every week that johnson gets shortchanged because of herms crapolla management. screw KC and their fans....let them suffer like we did with herm....and get used to seeing his anti-midas touch.
I liked Herm and was a supporter of the work he did here up until the Baltimore game at home in 2004 which was the Quincy Carter debacle on the goal line. We ended up losing in OT and that game left a pit in my stomach as to how the coaching staff was tested under pressure. That was the point I lost faith that he could be a top notch coach. That '04 training camp he ran a little differently than the previous two and I thought he could make the proper adjustments as any new head coach learns on the job. It became painfully obvious to me then that the players would have to put the staff in a position to win and not the other way around. That being said I do not wish him luck in KC, hope that he goes down in flames and is exposed for the fraud that he is. He failed to realize so many obvious issues that were hurting the team and he either was unwilling or incapable of dealing with them. He tried to fix them with smoke and mirrors emotional speeches rather than through thoughtful, creative and ingenuitive game planning and adjusting to the injuries that we suffered because that is all he had to fall back on. That is obvious incompetency and when he knew the mess he created was so bad and that he was incapable of cleaning it up, he had the audacity to ask for a new contract when he did such a horrible job in the last year and a half he was here. He was not deserving of a thing when he asked for that new deal. He should have been crawling back on his hands and knees asking Woody and Bradway to take him back after the mess which he was largely but not wholly responsible for. Instead he has the balls to ask for a new contract. I was happy he was leaving. I was downright giddy at the THOUGHT of getting ANY compensation whatsoever for a coach that deserved to be fired. When we ended up getting a 4th round pick for him I was flabbergasted at KC's ineptitude yet thrilled. Call it Kotite's revenge. I've been waiting at least 10 years for a bigger embarrassing front office decision than the hiring of Rich Kotite (4-35 in his final 2.5 years) and I feel KC's hiring of Herm could be it. I despised the fact that the Eagles fans were so arrogantly (and correctly) laughing in our faces when he was hired that I want to turn that feeling around on to another organization and this is a tailor made gift for us to do so!!!! Especially when I was living in Eagles territory at the time!!!! What makes it even sweeter is it would be an even greater failure for KC because at least we didn't give up a 4th round pick for Kotex.  :breakdance: :breakdance: I may be able to finally close the book on Kotite!!!!! :rofl2:
I was a straight KC fan until the fans finally won out with the argument, "Marty is only getting us to the Playoffs and not winning Super Bowls." I thought, If you keep on making it to the playoffs, you keep on having a chance at the Super Bowl. Now Marty is in San Diego and I'm a Jets fan. Herm is gone from the Jets and no longer an issue as far as winning is concerned. And, as long as Mangini can get us to the playoffs I'll be happy. Why keep on spending time on Herm?
Is it just me or have already seen and heard a lot LESS from Herm in KC than when he was in NY? Every clip regarding Green's injury so far has been via Carl Petersen's megaphone, save for the obvious post-game press conferences that every coach does. Perhaps Lamar Hunt told him from day one: No Kool Aid, No Play To Win The Game, No Buses, No Nothing. Defer to Petersen...period. Imagine the off-the-field entertainment we would've missed out on had Woody given Herm a similar rule.
From what my in-laws are saying, give the man 2 years. The Trent Green injury just bought Herm another season and provided another excuse of course. Amazing isn't it?
I never liked Herm Edwards as a coach. You could tell the players were always ill prepared and his time management and adjustments to the game with in a game blew dead monkeys. That being said I have three things to say: 1.) At this years World Series Of Poker I told a Chief's fan sitting at my table, "it was going to be a long year you got a shitty coach." He did not believe me, he thought Herm was good and they would do well........ Anyway I told him thanks for taking him off our hands, and they were robbed as they could have gotten him for a used puckbag. Good riddance he is not our problem any longer. 2.) Who gives a shit how bad he does, he is not our problem any longer. 3.) I do not wish him will because a.) he will bring on all his bad luck upon himself with poor preparation and b.) I do not give a rats ass any longer he is not our problem.
You guys are being a little hard on Herm. He will turn things around in KC....just watch. ha. I used to see posters around here say things like "Herm will run Johnson in to the ground" or "just watch how conservative KC gets with Herm". I never bought that. Herm...with all the bullshit he threw around about being your own man...and looking at yourself in the mirror...always reminded me of a guy that had no real original football thought in his head. Therefore, I fully expected him to let KC be KC...and let Green be Green. I was totally wrong. He does have a football brain...and boy oh boy..its not a good one. Mr. Im a cover 2 coach...no Im a Donnie Henderson blitzing coach...Mr. Im a conservative offensive coach..no...Paul Hackett was the one that sucked..so lets open up the offense this year..coach. Herm has no real idea who he is. Thats the biggest problem I ever had with him. Never liked people that preach one thing and do another. You play to win..but play not to lose. I mentioned it here during preseason...as soon as the Chief players started saying crap like "we will be fresh at the end of the season..because Herm runs a smart camp" that was the kiss of death...sounded so familiar no?
