Dirty, I like him too, won a Cup (I know so did Torts) Hank would certainly be the best goalie he ever had, good PP too

Was Jagr playing possum against us, he looked old and slow, and could only shift for 25 seconds, he looks rejuvenated vs Guins, especially in the double ot game

He has lost speed, but his endurance is ridiculous, everyone slowed down in the OTs as they got tired and he was the same speed.

so what's with this rumor about Sather stepping aside from his GM duties (remaining president)?........if that's true sounds to me like Mess s/b be the next GM (I don't want him behind the bench).

The Sather rumour appears to have come from an ESPN Boston blog quoting unnamed sources in the NHL. Until the NY hockey writers start to hear anything about it, I wouldn't put too much credence in the story.

Any of the NY beat writers that have commented on it have said the same thing: It's false speculation.

Anyway, even if Sather does step down I would have thought it more likely that his assistant (Horton?) takes over given he already did the job for a while when Sather was off sick.

Sadly, we're stuck with Sather until he dies.

Gorton will be the GM eventually. And if Boston wins the Cup this year, he should get a ring for making the Rask-for-Raycroft trade.

They should sign Messier!!! Give him a shot.

I thought Torts was a good coach, he held people accountable despite being rough around the edges. Firing him after a shortened season, where the team made major moves including trading their best player on offense is a bit silly. They should have given him one more year. I do not honestly think they lost because of Torts, and the team did better than expected in the post season this year. I blame the GM more than him. We had the #2 team in the NHL last year, yet we make more moves than almost all the others. You can't blame anyone but the GM for that. They majorly shook up the chemistry of the team during a lockout year after being 2nd in the NHL and finishing top 4... then they trade Gabby halfway through the season. It's like they wanted Torts to fail.

Larry Bird was a pretty good player. So was Mark Jackson.
