thats a real douchey thing to say. maybe he feels that the team will fail because of sanchez and that him rooting for him will do no good. so he has come to the point where he is predicting that sanchez will be so bad that he is pulled by game 8. yeah i just dont see how that is rooting to lose.
i think-as a football fan-that yes jets haven't done best job with sanchez at all but that after 4 years and regressions of epic proportions the past 2 years jets fan ought to be very skeptical of him being anything more in the future...and if half of season 5 has past and nothings changed...u got to think rex will have a much quicker trigger this year, albeit reluctantly that's all I am saying
ha, whatever, I may have had some shoddy research I was quoting off of so that part may be incorrect as I was going off second hand information without double checking it, I'll work on verifying it later one way or the other. If I was wrong I'll say this much, I admit when I make an error. And on the initially cursory view it appears I did make an error in the information I used. And that marks the difference between myself and some others on here, I admit when I've made an error. However, the rest of the statistical data pertaining to Sanchez I do stand by.
Really? Thats why when some of us make arguments we post LINKS. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/Y/YounSt00.htm Pro football reference is fairly reliable. First 4 NFL years...Sanchez > Young. Young, better coach, better cast. Sanchez at least now has a Coach. I would think he has earned the chance, with your Schitty argument Schot to Schit.
Sanchez put up decent numbers in 2011. 2nd in Red zone efficiency is a pretty good accomplishment. 2012, you have to concede was total systemic failure.
Statistically, he improved, performance wise, he fell off late in the Season.. Its also fair to point out, that the defense gave up losses of, 34,34,30 points in Oct. 45,29 points iin December. Factor in giving up the 12 minute matt moore drive to miami, end the 98 yard drive to Tebow, thats 7 of 8 losses the defense.,,you know that great Jets defense had a pretty big hand in. Eric Smith makes a tackle in denver, the team finishes no worse than 9 and 7. It is fair to argue, that Sanchez played better statistically, 2nd in red zone eddiciency, 32 scores, and well enough to win at keast 11 games, with just a little help from his friends. Go back, and look at the season, its pretty clear why the locker room was a mess. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_New_York_Jets_season The defense had the media killing Sanchez, and Rex telling them how great they are...and we couldnt win a single game. Where the offense scored less than 24. Yeah, its all Sanchez. To be fair, he threw two picks late in the miami game, but just one time...during 2011.....the defense couldnt help bring a game home?
Yeah, playoff winner, one losing season...guy sucks...you're right. Explain how 2011 is the fault of the QB? Did his play fall of. sure. Not half as mich as the defense. Jets lost every game where they failed to put up 24. If the defense doesnt allow a 98 yard drive to Tebow, including a long touchdown run. In the final two minutes, its 9-7 One more game, the Jets are a playoff team. But...they did put up 24 or better in 8 games. (which is not to say thats all offense, obvious,y the defense and special teams accounted for some scores. The point is the defense failing to bring anything to the table, in a low scoring game.)
i am with you man. it drives me crazy when people like hobbes say stuff like you are rooting for the team to fail, its just such a douchey comment.
I said, he played poorly down the stretch...but...unril that point, he had been playing ok, and better rhan previously. They did finish second overall in Red Zone efficiency. And he slightly increased his percentage from the year prior, and scored 32 times. But, the team as a whole played like crap down the stretch, including the QB.
Morningweigis a full of shit as all the jet shil guys. The fact the knowingly this team has no wr corps and has done nothing about it (Obamanu is next to nothing) is criminal. Guys that are out there such as Edwards Nate Washington and a few others should be in their camp now. What is the sense of it all, with Sanchez still here? Where is Ivory gonna run to with no wr or te demanding doublesS? They are a joke..
After reading most of these threads I have come to the conclusion like many here that as a real Jet fan its irrelevant if you like Sanchez or not at this point. There is no benefit whatsoever to root against Sanchez for Pete's sake. It a losers approach to things, hoping for Sanchez to suck is putting your emotions ahead of your brain. I will say it again. The absolute best scenario is for both QBs to excel like SF last year. Worst scenario is for Sanchez to suck like so many here hope and for Geno not to be ready. Be careful what you wish for . As long as Sanchez is a Jet we will root for him to succeed, giving MM multiple choices to select from and not be forced to take the lesser of two evils.
Simple question; Would any of you be accepting of Mark if he "returned" to AT LEAST the level of performance he portrayed in his 1st 2 seasons? (Mind you he was "equipped" with an adequate/above-avg offense capable of overcoming some of his mistakes/miscues) .....Or would U be in condemnation of him if doesn't EXCEED/SURPASS his performance levels of his 1st 2 seasons?...less the talent level he does not have! Just curious.....!
He needs to exceed his best season, and he needs to lead the team to at least a 10-6 record. That's what it will take for me to come around for him, and that's what it will take for Rex Ryan to keep his job should he start Mark.
Um exactly what do you mean by his first two years, he was the exact same QB in years 1-2 as he was in 3-4, with a few statistical variances within the realm of normal variance for the most part. One season fumbling the ball less than 10 times, 1 year throwing less than 18 interceptions, 1 year over 55% completion rate, and that was only 56.7% if I recall. never over 6.4 or so yards per attempt. Sanchez was almost exactly the same QB in 2012 as he was in 2009-2011, he was at his career average in almost every category.
