for the second time last night i watched this espn 30/30 about the 1983 first round draft and it was a great show.

mostly about the 6 QB's taken in the first round and centered around elway and marino.

some juicy info from an agents (m. demoff i think) hand written notes during the days/weeks leading up to the draft.

of course this hits a major nerve for us jet fans as the woulda coulda shoulda mumblings come out.

a very funny moment - after obrien gets drafted by the jets, marino asks his agent to be - who is ken obrien??

great show and worth ur time.

Who is Ken Obrien? well Ken showed him plenty of times. Marino is a loser and a crackhead who tested to be as smart as a doorknob on the wonderlic. Shame all the super bowls we missed out by not drafting him.

Obviously no comparison between the 2 but Ken was 8-7 lifetime vs Marino

Thats the shame of not taking him, all his years he had no running game and no defense, we had both...

Yea the sack exchange. Toon and Walker. We probably make a SB appearance at some point in the 80's with Marino. Kenny was a good QB but he doesn't compare to Marino.

From 1983 onward the Jets defense was regularly finishing in the lower 3rd of the league

oh, and we had no offensive line

Marino would rack up the numbers but win zilch here. And I'm sure by the early 90's he'd be gone
