Have you guys been watching this Jets train wreck the last couple of years and you want to bring in a 300 lb druggie, largest QB bust in history Jamarcus Russel? Good God the press would have a field day, maybe they could slot him in at O-Line if he didn't pan out at QB.

Jagarbage Russell? You have to got to be fucking kidding me.

I would agree if you add that he takes a 75% salary cut so he is in line with what he is worth..otherwise you know, I know and everybody else knows he is history either before this year begins or when it ends.

This makes zero sense. We have a developing quarterback in Sanchez (a struggling one at that) along with (in my opinion) the Nation's top rated college quarterback in Geno Smith as a rookie but yet some are mentioning JaMarcus Russell as being good for the Jets? Not say that he can't turn his NFL career around but he's considered being one of the biggest busts of NFL history. Right up there with Ryan Leaf. JaMarcus Russell with the Jets would become a disaster due to New York media. The media ate Tebow along with our franchise alive I couldn't image the mocking they'd make of us signing JaMarcus.

Just my thoughts but I don't believe surrounding both of Sanchez and Geno with Russell would pay off as a good move. Another quarterback circus is the last Sanchez needs. Lets allow Sanchez and Geno compete as a fan base and in due time we'll see who's the better talent. Regardless of who starts out of Mark and Geno, both will have my support moving forward. Although I'm pulling for fresh blood in Geno to open up but if not, here's to Sanchez finally coming into his own with experience. In my opinion we need a veteran backing up and/or working with our two young quarterbacks in order to tap into potential. I'm not sure if Charlie Batch is a free agent or retired by now but he's a strong mentor for younger quarterbacks. Stepped in and went 1-1 with a completion percentage of 64.3 during two games last season.

Sanchez being on the team guarantees a quarterback circus. Trust me, and brace yourself.

Another QB circus is the last thing SANCHEZ needs? In case you haven't noticed, that scrub is just another guy on the roster trying to earn a spot. He is NOTHING and we are not moving forward with him as the future of our franchise. We could sign Tebow, JaMarcus, and Ryan Leaf for all I care. If the girl can't handle a little competition, then he's not cut out for the NFL.

The Jets only superbowl was lead by a hard core alcoholic who was also known to use pain meds.

In a QB competition between Sanchez and Geno bring on the biggest loser.

Idzik is trying to cut the circus act not add to it... There is a 0% chance of this happening. I will take my chances with Geno, Sanchez, and Simms/McElroy.

you gotta be kidding me with this sh!t. This dude is a rich loser. We don't need players like him on the JETS. All he would do is create more drama as he sits on the bench for a season. No thanks.

I cant believe most would even consider this. This forum sometimes.....man... :(

Well, I'm sure you can't wait for Sanchez to lose more games for us.

Russell has more talent and brings less of a media circus than Tebow. It's not shocking at all really.

    This.

People are surprised a former No. 1 pick who has prototypical size and a big arm is getting looks in the NFL? Shocking.

I don't think anyone expects Russell to be the starter ever in his career. But I have no problem with teams taking a look at him or Vince Young or other veterans that have flamed out.

Not saying the Jets should sign him, but I don't think he would cause problems in the locker room (not that Tebow tried to). And if he does, he could be cut, no problem. Nobody expects Russell to start. Russell doesn't have a rabid fanbase. It would contribute to, "Oh, let's all laugh at the Jets, they signed JaMarcus," but that's meaningless.

I see no harm in looking at him or signing if he shows more potential than our current roster.
Nothing could be more embarrassing than last years fuster cluck at QB.
