title is pretty self explanatory, but who do you believe has the potential to be the next star for this team? now that revis is gone, we basically have no one.

*let it be known that by star, i mean a guy that is known by everyone around the league, even people who don't watch football that much. like even though mo wilk is EXTREMELY good right now, he isn't classified as a star (yet) because no one really knows of him minus jets fans.

Obviously no one from the offense unless Geno Smith becomes something.

Mo Wilkerson should be known league-wide already, this year he will be.

Sheldon Richardson. If he gets in the groove, we can legitimately have a Sack Exchange 2.0 again

    coples.

sacks are sexy and that gets you known. mo may end up being an all around better player but coples can gain star status with a few double digit sack season strung together

Honestly, the fact that Wilk is not one already is because people would rather focus on the QB drama and not his play on the line.

Everyone of the Dline mentioned has the ability to. Geno because a QB in NY is a big deal.

Sanchez. When Marty rehabs him, the media trying to cover their asses will treat it like a miracle. Like Manginis first season.

I hear you Hobbs, but given the fact that Marty's probably not going to have the work-in-progress Jet offense suddenly come out with both guns blazing, I would think Sanchez' "star" would not be spectacularly incandescent so to speak....what I'm trying to say is that I think there will be a longer wait-and-see period from a cynical press and skeptical (and somewhat hostile) fanbase should Sanchez keep Smith at bay.

If you're going by which is the best player, it's Wilkerson, at least for now. He's already a beast, and he's young enough where he should still get better. Coples and Richardson could get there, too, but Wilk will be there first.

If you're going by which the media would love the most, I'll say Richardson. If he's good, and the Jets are good, I could see him being a very entertaining player to watch and read quotes from.

But the answer is always the quarterback. If Geno plays well, we'll love him. That star will collapse as soon as he plays poorly, but if every player on that list becomes good, Geno would definitely become the biggest star.

If Ivory stays healthy, I could see him getting a fanbase very quickly, too.

Yeah, Ivory is a good pick. I forgot about the fantasy football factor. You produce big stats, you become known by fans all over the place for that reason alone.

I agree. I think he's not the popular choice, but when he played last year, he was constantly burning people.

I wouldn't have included Wilkerson in this because he is already very good, it should be about who can hit or miss. Geno obviously has a grand opportunity to be a star and will get a lot of attention just being a QB. But I went with the upside of Sheldon Richardson.

man o man that is a horribly scary list of guys to choose your next superstar out of.

mo wilkerson while a solid player is far from a superstar. the rest of them at this point arent even worth mentioning.

Gotta be Wilk right now. Could any of the other guys surpass him? Absolutely, but as of right now he's the closest thing we have to a real star. I expect a big year for him this season and, yes, I'm aware of how good he was last year.

There's a few choices on there that I like. Obviously Geno comes to mind, and I think that he will be a solid player. Wilkerson is really good, but I don't think that I'd choose him over Coples. Wilk is solid and is one of the best at his position, but Coples of continues to improve will be more known. He's the one that will be getting the sacks. Overall I think our DLine is going to be great all together.

It's only a scary list because all we have right now is potential and until they produce or show up we will all be a little hesitant to call them a superstar... Best Chances = Stephen Hill ( Flashy position, physical specimen, Group of unknown WR )
