i dunno hes got that cool karate kid reference username also, why would the team be actively looking to replace mcknight on kick off returns? isnt he like one of the best in the league?
I don't think they're trying to replace him. It's good to have guys like McKnight and Cribbs that can do various things. McKnight can play runningback, WR and return kicks, Cribbs can play WR, and return kicks.
yeh i can totally see him returning some punts but unless mcknight is slated to take on a larger role in the offense hes got that kr role locked down people in this thread talking about releasing mcknight tho, i dont get it
why hasnt brandon lloyd been looked at yet? i know hes 31 years old, but dude still has talent and could help with the WRs i understand we are rebuilding, but its not like he's 35. he still has stuff in the tank
Roster spots are at a premium down in those depths..I see it this way..they have three RBs and are short on receivers..both can return kicks so where would you prefer the depth?
I don't think the Jets see him as a receiver but then I don't think the Jets see him as much of a RB either.
Why do you keep saying this? He has 17 career receptions in three years. Last year he had one reception. And three fumbles.
http://www.jetsinsider.com/punt_returns.php 2012: 36 Fair Catches vs 19 returns. ================== With all those Kerley fair catches, I thought McKnight was gonna be returning punts in preseason & then decision made on whether he can be permanent punt & kickoff returner. However, if Cribbs is signed, Cribbs is pretty much guaranteed both punts & kickoffs. Makes McKnight a little more expendable.
Brad Smith may be a cap casualty of the Bills, might be worth it to kick those tires, always thought he was a good character guy
I think it would be interesting to see Brad and Cribbs brought in for a competition and also see the Dark McNugget get shown the door.
Brady couldn't get good use out of Lloyd, what makes you think Sanchez will? At least we know Edwards has rapport with Sanchez. When the Jets resigned Edwards at the end of last season he was immediately the best player on the Jets offense. I'm saying Sanchez rather than Geno because I think the Jets would be crazy to start Smith with the shitbag receiving corps the Jets currently have.
There also were reports that Lloyd was a lockerroom/practice distraction so I doubt Idzik/Rex want that type of guy around.
