I like that we chose a guard, but I'm not sure about this guy. It is another tackle from a small school, sounds like Ducasse 2.0. Hopefully, he is better than Vlad. He only did nine reps on the bench at the combine - maybe his shoulder is still bad?
Not bad, all three of those were needs. Now we need more weapons for Geno and still someone who can rush the passer.
I honestly think if we resign Braylon our wideouts will be pretty good this year. I can get down with Holmes, Hill, Kerley, and Braylon...definitely need a TE though, but I do like Cumberland as a #2. I think we lose Holmes next year and target a top receiver or pass rusher in the draft next year, depending on who is available. As far as a pass rushing LB this year...that is a tough one
Lol... I like this pick a lot. Izdik has done well so far, IMO. Has drafted 4 starters and traded for another. Well, that's if Smith wins the starting QB job, and I think he will...
Kudos to the scouting department, I know it's idzik that makes the choice but I think we have to give them a little credit for all the work they put in.
Im really hoping Hayden smith develops this year. He has the potential and being a former rugby player myself I think he can become a good player
He did on the first 3 picks, 3 direct immediate "impact" player hits! In one draft, I am estatic! The drafting drought is over. 3 Pro Bowlers picks one, two, and three Add in Wilkerson, Coples and possibly Hill and Ellis that took two years. This years Draft is Legendary.
I wanted to post in this thread as well. I was able to go to a Kent St. game this past season and was told to look out for Winters. He's an absolute beast and should help to solidify your OL from day one. If he had longer arms, he'd be an OT. He had great feet at LT, gave 100% on every play I saw, had a mean streak, and showed a lot of athleticism getting to the second level and blocking LBs. I think this was a great value and excellent selection by your FO FWIW.
Starting him at LG would do wonders for his development. Being between Mangold and D'Brick can't hurt.
Just curious, did you guys prefer Earl Warford to Winters? He went a few spots ahead and I really liked Warford. He absolutely wore Richardson out in a game last year.
I liked Warford, I liked Dallas Thomas. Either one of those guys would have been better than Winters, imo. Winters will have the opportunity to prove me wrong, but I would rather have the guys who played against better competition.
