The Jets did nothing to Tebow. NFL GMs are not stupid. If Tebow has an ounce of talent he will be wanted by many teams as a QB and be signed quickly by somebody. Instead we all know no NFL team wants him because of his comPlete lack of QB skills and QB talent. When a player is cut and the CFL or AFL look like the next destination, the player's former team did not "screw" him. He is just an over-hyped player that got on a lucky streak in Denver mainly because of events and circumstances in games rather than his play. He never should have been brought here ant today is a great day for the Jets to be rid of this albatross. There is no screwing . If he could Plat QB , he will be on an NFL roster this season . That is highly unlikely.
Close Jeff. The reality is, they screwed Sanchez, by keeping a crap OC, and bringing in Veteran skill players like a revolving door, and NOT drafting skill talent, to allow for growth and consistency. And the vets they brought in were mostly on short deals, unlike the Pats bringing in Welker. Jets...Draft Sanchez, bring in vet retreads. Colts, draft Manning..and Harrison, and Wayne, and Addai, and Clark. All first round talents.
Bitch, i did watch the game. Timmons got flagged early, i dont think thats where he got his bell rung. Harrison went upstairs later on, no flag..the only reason ot sticks out, is because of all the players in football that should draw that flag, when its remotely close, harrison is the worst offender.
Whoever it was it as a vicious hit. Mark can't take those hits any longer. Ever since Von Miller and Jason Babin got in that ass he really hasn't been the same
you think the guy who kept his job for six years despite never breaking the top half of the league rankings and losing games for the team with inept play calling in the red zone (when he was actually able to get the offense there) got a raw deal?
Sanchez got screwed worse. He played for a coach who has no idea that football has Offense & defense. He was never given stability at the skill positions and is now on his 3rd offensive coordinator in 5 seasons. Sanchez is a legitimate QB, Tebow is not.
I watched a college highlight video of Sanchez recently and in almost all of the completions in the video the receiver was WIDE OPEN. It didn't really show that Sanchez was full of NFL level talent. Anyway, Sanchez wasn't screwed - he was paid HUGE money and got to sleep with many beautiful women and partied all over NYC. As far as Tebow is concerned, the Jets screwed up. Everybody knows that Tebow is not an NFL level passer. He also got paid excellent money.
Neither Why does everyone look at it this way? Why do we not ask did they screw the Jets? They both played poorly. The team didn't do them any favors, but the team last year was overall bad, and they were both part of the problem. After a season like that nobody is safe.
What great receivers has Brady had? Lately he has had a slot receiver and a couple of tight ends..good QBs make due with what they have.
In 2011 and 2012 the Jets always had the worst "something" on the field with Sanchez. In 2011 it was Hunter at RT. In 2012 it was take-your-pick of the receivers aside from Kerley. However when you're good in a bad situation you take lemons and you make lemonade. May not be champagne but you can drink it. Sanchez put in those situations dropped the pitcher repeatedly.
Clearly Tebow because he signed with a team that had a shitty QB and he thought he had a good chance at starting, which he should have had. But they stuck with Sanchez, who continued to suck, and when they did put Tebow in, it'd be the same play every time so the defense would just stack the box and destroy him. The Jets possibly destroyed his career. Sanchez, on the other hand, was given all the opportunities in the world. And the reason he failed has nothing to do with the rotation of crappy OCs he had. It was all because he SUCKS. He can't throw to an open receiver. The only reason his interception numbers were lower was because a lot of CBs that he hit in the chest dropped the ball. It'd be a screen pass and Sanchez would just throw it into the dirt in front of his receiver. These are scheme mistakes or lack of WR talent mistakes. These are "Can't throw the damn ball to save his life" mistakes.
The Jets did not screw Tebow, Tebow screwed Tebow. You dont just get handed things in life, you have to work for them. If you do not show well in practice why should you get a chance in real life? That does not happen in real life so why should it happen in football?
