When you say ignorant things like "Couples didnt do anything last year" it completely invalidates your post and makes people realize you don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
I think its a little premature to say what any rookie will be but Richardson and Milliner appear to be the real day, on paper it least, we will see how they play once the season starts. I like Winters a lot and I think Idzik did a good job basically drafting 4 potential long term starters for this team, assuming everything breaks out the right way. I'm giddy over our defensive line, Richardson is a playmaking DT who is going to probably move all around the line and allow Rex to show both 3-4 and 4-3 looks. Wilkerson is one of the best defensive ends in football, and when I say one of the best i'm talking like top 3 already, the guy is an absolute animal, and Coples had a very solid rookie season.
Because it's better than high-fiving each other about your own team all the time. This is a good place with a lot of smart fans that talk about a game we all love. I appreciate intelligent discussion and the occasional laugh from you guys!!!
Thank you, we have some very good rival fans that post here and I welcome them with open arms because I like the different opinions.
If you look at the fucking Giants it worked for them... The talent we have drafted in Wilkerson, Coples, Ellis and now Richardson!!! Will make us have one of the best D-lines in the AFC. If i was Rex i would be luving the 4-3 nickel package this year. WITH Milliner, Cro, Wilson and Tru in the back field and that line up front...
It also helped the Giants that they actually had a QB who could play. They also had a really good OL and two pretty good RB's in Jacobs and the douchebag what's his name now oh Bradshaw? The 1st SB they won they didn't have a steller set of WRs but now they have some really good ones. That team goes as Eli goes... as we have seen the last few years. His consistency is ultimately what decides the fate of the Giants.
I love what the Jets did in this draft. Building the lines this year so they can draft skill players next year. Skill players aren't worth a damn if the line can't block anyone. Jets have their foundation set, now it's time to build upon that. Really like the position they're in now.
Son, even in Ryan's worst days, his team didn't suck as much as yours did. And if you think Kolb will save your ass, let me laugh at you.
Not disputing that Eli is consistent. From the offensive POV Eli and their RB and OL were all well rounded. What i am saying is that on the other side of the ball their front 4 was what made them keep points off the board. I think with Wilks, Coples, Ellis, Richardson we have so serious potential.
agree 100% Now all they need is to give Rex a 2 year extension to take the pressure off and give him a chance.
and i can understand that ! you are a dolphins fan,but you are well respected in my eyes because you don't inject ignorance into your posts.. most the other division rival teams do,example - "Bill over Jets"
I'm going to temper my enthusiasm until the first couple of games. Everyone in the league is paid to play, and if you were paying attention at the draft you noticed every team is loading up on the lines. Just because we took some good prospects doesn't mean we show up on game day and hand in a lineup and get a W. I'm excited for the teams potential, especially against Kipers horrible assessment of "a glorified expansion team", but they won't be The Sack Exchange 2 until they show up and produce. I like the optimism though. Nothing wrong with spending he offseason looking through rose (or green) colored glasses.
With the addition of Richardson I see us running a lot of 4-6 this year. I think next year we might look to trade or cut Harris for the cap relief and switch to a 4-3 with Davis being the sideline to sideline MLB that Vilma was. Time will tell but I think the 4-3 with Richardson shooting his gap is the best way to get the most out of our talent on the dline and lb corps. I just worry about Mo Wilk and QC being out of position as 4-3 d-ends, as they might transition better as inside players in a 4-3.
Rex runs a hybrid D and changes his scheme up week to week depending on the O 4-3 vs the spread 3-4 vs the option 46 vs vertical teams I've seen us switch it up during games I think we really limit ourselves on D if we say we're a 3-4 or 4-3 were just a smash mouth hard nosed attacking in your face defense
This. What we learned about IDZ;s priorities from this draft: A) RR is going 2 b HC B) Sanchez is toast C) DL & OL need to B improved Good job overall. You can quibble about a pick here or there, but basically IDZ did a good job. The OL is a serious concern but reaching to get Warmack seems kind of crazy w/Dee on the board. Star might have been a better pick but his health is an issue and Richardson is a dynamic DT.
