Winner of a direct QB competition between Sanchez / Garrard / Tebow.

Smith should be slotted the #3 immediately, and allowed the opportunity to earn his way up the depth chart... but not for opening day.

Out of the three mentioned above, whichever is worst gets cut outright.

Give it to garrard, either G-mac, Sanchez, or tebow at the ready to come in for him, and smith at a technical third spot on the depth chart after playing the first half of the last preseason game.

I want the best proven veteran playing and our future learning.

if the season seems lost come december, transition to smith.

but day one I want DG. He shouldn't have that much of a health problem.

I will say that if the other 3 I mentioned can out play him than start them, so long as we don't toss Smith to the lions just yet (except the first preseason game, toss him out to the lions in the 4th  )

I don't have faith in sanchez any longer. he needs to play elsewhere.

In a perfect world I'd hope Smith flat out wins the job

Barring injury there is almost 100% chance Geno Smith starts day 1. Rookie QBs start now. The Jets and media will go on and on about competition and him sitting, but in the end Geno will be day 1 starter. Watch the MM video. It is pretty obvious who he prefers, already

in a perfect world, smith wins the job, sprains his ankle and misses 4 weeks.
sanchez comes in and balls out for 4 weeks and some team gives us some draft picks for one of them next year

Went with Garrard, Tebow and Sanchez will be gone, either cut after June 1st or small possibility of a trade, though the Jets would have to advance a significant potion of Sanchez's salary to get any sort of trade done.

Most likely both will be cut.

I think Geno is best served starting the season on the bench, unless he completely lights up the pre-season.

Sanchez is done. He's mentally fragile and just a bad QB. Garrard, while certainly not the future, can mentor SMith for a few weeks at least (if he stays healhy). Otherwise, throw Geno into the fire. We don't have the weapons to compete, but he will gain experience. Sanchez will get shitted out of the building the first time he turns the ball over (which won't take long).

    Tebow.........needs to just go awaym

As a Jets fan, Geno Smith since he will be on the longest contract.

Let's see who wins the QB competition, but my guess is likely going to Geno Smith starting in Week 1

Geno Smith. If we're going to lose, and we will lose, I want to see what Geno's got and see if we can develop him.

I have to agree with this and would love for Sanchez to prove us wrong,,,,,but I just can't see it happening. I think back to 2 years ago when they gave Brunnell a few extra reps in practice and Sanchez instead of stepping up had a hissy fit

Geno will start. He has to this is the NY Jets circus we are talking about. I hope this kid can handle it b.c he almost couldn't handle the media right before the draft. I still wish we had EJ Manuel that guy has a head on his shoulder, hard worker, big strong armed QB.

Many analysts think Geno should sit. I hope the Jets handle this right, but they probably won't.

I would get rid of Sanchez and Tebow. Start Garrard and have him teach Geno for as long as Gerrard is healthy then put Geno in after that point.
