They'll tell you to stop being a darksider and that bench press has no bearings on how an OL will perform.
Sal Palantonio (sp?) is really pissing me off with his stupid question on this post-draft press conference.
He looks like a powder puff. Come on, the Jets almost always flunk mid-round picks, that's why we have no depth. Most OL are in the 20-30 range, maybe the problem is his shoulder. If it wasn't his shoulder, then he sure didn't put too much time into preparing for the combine. So quit being a wanker and think about it.
he suffered a pectoral strain and stopped at 9 reps....in other words he stopped before injurng himself. lets not pretend he can only put up 9 reps....he is strong, tough ad durable with excellent technique & versatility - which is exactly what we need - Great Pick!!!
The New York media makes me sick ... honestly is there a more self important group of people on the planet. They feel slighted when they don't get what they want. They never would have survived Belicheck.
How about trading up for Quinton Patton? I think that I'd like it better if we got a good receiver in the 4th than try to get a hit on a 7th. What do ya think?
PFW had Brian Winter as their third best guard and he was projected to go in rounds 2 - 3 "Would fit inside best in the Pros and possesses the toughness, desire and explosion to make an immediate impact. A low-risk, high-reward pick" Very, durable 4 year starter with outstanding work habits.
a few interesting OL prospects left in my opinion...at least one should make it to the 5th. Oday Aboushi OT/OG...probably won't make it out of the 4th, but at one point he was considered a fringe first round pick. Alvin Bailey OG. A chance he makes it out of the 4th, at one point he was considered a pretty solid 2nd-3rd round pick Barrett Jones OG/OC. I'm surprised he's still on the board, must be due to injury issues. He'll probably go in the 4th. O. Uzzi (I can't spell his first name). At one point he was a solid 2-4 round pick, but he's fallen. There are some excellent WR's as well and some of those should make it to the 5th as well. Ryan Swope, Da'rick Rogers, Quinton Patton, Kenny Stills, Marcus Davis, among others. A few good TE's left to choose from as well. I'm really nervous that we won't have a good safety fall, though there are 4 or 5 still on the board...problem is they have to make it through the 4th round to get to the jets and there are 43 picks before the Jets next selection, so the cuppard may be pretty bare by that point...then again if you'd said to me a couple days ago that some of the players listed above, plus players like Rambo and Shamark Thomas, would still be on the board going in to round 4 I wouldn't have believed you.
Maybe the Jets feel that way too, which is why they decided to go ahead and cough up the 4 for Ivory. Maybe some needs will be there in the 5th.
San Fran still has a pile of picks left, maybe trade a 2014 4th & 7th to them for one of their 4th rounders.
