He came awful close to getting his 1st red zone INT today. In fact it might have been the turning point of the game. It looked like a very bad call and there should have been no PI called. But I would rather be lucky than good.
He's thrown 2 INTs in the red zone that I know of but both have been called back on penalties. Nonetheless, very impressive stat.
Yeah they said that in the commentary last night , quite incredible. iknow its only one game but how sweet does that look?NAME, TEAM OPP STATUS COMP ATT YDS TD INT SACK FUM QB RAT 1. wtf is Alex Smith doing on that list?? The two QBs tonight better shift him, or the NFL loses all credibility!
Yeah it wasn't the first time he has gotten lucky on penalty calls in the red zone. In all fairness though, that looked like a PI in real time, but not on replay. Calls are not reviewable, so that's the breaks. He is amazing in the red zone though. He always has been. He is poised, and that matters more than anything else. It's a tough place to play, since the D has the advantage of less field to cover. Keeping control over your emotions is extremely important down there to avoid costly mistakes. Chad is a master of the art.
It didn't look like a bad call to me, Baker was practically tackled before the ball got there. What is interesting is the last time we played the Titas(2003) Chad threw a red zone INT to Samari Rolle but it was called back on a penalty.
