he is a high risk/high reward player for sure - it just seems that when the Jets gamble they tend to lose.

With the new CBA, losing gambles is not as costly as it once was. I say take a few more chances.

My prediction is that the Jets will trade out of both the #9 and #13 slots.

Trade 1 will be with the Minnesota Vikings:

Jets will trade the #9 overall to the Vikings for the #23 and #25 picks.

Trade 2 will be with the San Francisco 49ers:

Jets will trade the #13 overall to the 49ers for the #31 and #34 picks.

    ------------

The big value in the 2013 Draft is the bottom half of the 1st round through the 3rd round. The above trades make sense for all teams considered. The Vikings will be looking to replace Percy Harvin with either Austin or Patterson. The 49ers have way too many picks that won't make their roster so they will look to move up and maximize value for their picks.

The Jets can walk away ending up with #23, #25, #31, #34 and #39 picks in the draft. Taking the cap hit with the Revis trade, the Jets will have limited ability to sign anyone else the remainder the year. Bringing in a draft class of 10 picks this year will be huge. Couple that with a draft class next year of a maximum of 12 picks (1-7 2013 + TB's 3/4 2013 and upto 4 comp picks).

huge holes at RB WR TE OL and DL LB and now CB and S too
    this is sheer FAIL

trading for one number 1 pick solves nothing

trying to plug a hole you just created doesnt solve all the other holes on the team

Why does everyone think we suck at WR?
Stephen Hill (Was hurt last year)
Santonio Holmes (Was hurt last year)
    Kerley, Jeremy (Solid 3rd WR)
Braylon Edwards (Can bring back cheap and should. Please bring back Braylon!)
Chaz Schilens (For a 4th or 5th WR spot he isn't that bad.)
Clyde Gates (Won't make the team by week one but as #6 WR he wasn't total trash.)

If we spend a 1st round pick on a WR I will scream!

a WR when everyone says we have no QB seems useless....great a skill guy with no other skill guy to get him the ball.

Need a pass rusher or a gurad

One of the big reasons is because Santonio Holmes most likely won't be back next year, re-signing Braylon isn't a long-term solution. So after this year all they have left is Hill and Kerley. WRs generally shouldn't be expected to contribute once in their first year, so its important to draft one this year and let him develop so he can contribute in 2014

With that said, I don't want a first round WR (I would be okay with Tavon Austin at 13 or later) and would prefer the Jets select a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round

Absolute dream scenario right there, have 3 very good players or 5 good players? It's about quality or quantity, but If we stay put my dream is Dee Millner and Tavon Austin
