Good signing. Like people said it's more of a stop gap move but it's a good stop gap move. Hope it's more than a one year deal...could you imagine if we had his brother on a cheap multiyear deal? But not sure I want it to be "long term" as he's already 30. As far as I know he doesn't have any injury/durability issues though. Can anyone confirm that?
obligatory: championship! good signing. i was calling for it the day he was released. idzic just sitting back and hitting singles. steadier approach than the former swing for the fences method. also another cut f.a. so i doesnt count against comp picks next year
I wouldn't call him a stop gap by no eans. He's a very solid player he just needs a good cover guy beside him at FS to pick up a bit of the slack. I hope Josh Bush can be that guy. After the reign of Tanny I am so skeptical to trust another GM, but Idzik keeps earning more and more of my respect with every transaction. I don't want to speak too soon, and I'm definitely waiting till after the draft, but... I think he might be the "one". *grins like an idiot*
When I heard he was cut I was really hoping we would make a move and get him, Well we did and like the other posters I am just waiting to see what kind of contract he agreed to. So far I really like what are new GM is doing, BRING on the draft.
In a perfect world, he could also become a good long term mentor for the projects we already have/future pick.
GREAT MOVE ! i didnt hear anything about Dawan for awhile after rumors i was a little worried but i knew this was probably going to happen.
He's not Dawan I wanted (rather have lil bro), but I also love the signing. I also like what I saw of our other safety draft pick last year, Allen.
I think that Jaiqwann Jarrett is also signed to the Jets. I looked the guy up when I first saw that we signed him right at the beginning of the offseason and it looks like he's got talent. He was a second round pick so the talent has to be there. Hopefully he earns a spot and changes his career around.
Yep, he is on the Jets. I remember being really interested in jarrett in the '11 draft, but Philly picked him in 2nd round. 1 year later, Philly cut him. Anyone know what happened with Philly where they'd cut bait on him so quickly?
