http://www.steelers.com/news/articl...ie-Colon/51fb600b-8a4b-4b52-a8d0-3ae0f7918ed0 I'm pretty happy about this. He took a huge paycut and, although he's slight past his prime,he seems serviceable if healthy. I wonder what this means for the possibility of drafting Warmack. EDIT: Apparently he has a tendency to get penalties (holding or off-sides..); let's hope for the best, though.
It means nothing about Warmack. It just opens the Jets up to follow thier board and not worry about holes. Now we need a nice cheap vet saftey and OLB.
I'd like them to still draft Warmack. You have Ducasse as bench strength, and either draft a Tackle or pick a decent one up in FA and you have yourself a real good OL. This makes the whole offense better, including Sanchez.
Solid signing. Still plenty of safeties to navigate through in this market so we'll see what the future holds. Certainly doesn't preclude them from taking Warmack or Cooper at #9, but doesn't make the position nearly as much of a need. If the guy can stay healthy he's very much a solid starter. For what it's worth (I don't put a lot of stock in PFF although I will say I thought they were dead on about Landry being overrated), he graded out as a top 15 run blocker and in the top 25 in pass protection. Good news for whoever's playing QB.
If Colon stays healthy, this could be a real good signing. I suppose the Jets have guards targeted in the draft, and Colon is basically stopgap. However, I like this signing.
Ha ha straight gansta! Colon is a nice player, If he can stay healthy he will definitely help the line.
