Manziel would obviously be fantastic but I don't think you can just write off next season and have a "suck for Luck" type campaign. Why would Ryan do that?

Smith is more mobile, he can function with a weak OL which we currently have.

People want to deadpan every candidate...does anyone here think that anyone, Tebow or McElroy included, would have the fumbles Sanchez did, nevermind the INTs and everything else? I just do not see it. Something has to give here.

Our coach can't have a "suck for luck" year, but our GM can. Manziel next season would revive a franchize, two or three extra wins this year means nothing. Best to have a first or worst place finish and no way we have a first place team, so go for worste. They should have just cut Rex but making him stay to get paid is wosre for him than getting fired.

Keep him and get rid of eight defensive starter he had assembled (counting Revis). Rex should be begging to be fired by game one this year.

Teddy Bridgewater is the QB you want...

I guess that is a fair point. Bridgewater would also be a decent pick. Come to think of it, next year should be a strong QB year overall.

Yes, both are light years from Sanchez in terms of overall talent.

Theres a reason McElroy hardly ever dresses.

At least Tebow has certain intangibles, but hes not a tenth the Passer Sanchez is,

    8?

Coples, wilk, harris, cro, wilson. You cant count Mevi$ as a starter because he was pit all year.

Youre replacing two one year rentals at safety, two OLb, ellis will start on DLine, and Josh Bush at safety, and Demario Davis next to harris, which means youre replacing 3 spots....depth os the issue.

Stop drinking the media kool aid.

Let me play devil's advocate for a second. This year's class should serves as a good lesson about banking on a future draft class. Think about Barkley, Smith, and Wilson - of those three, who's really met the expectations coming into this season? And, for some unknown reason, didn't pundits pick Denard Robinson to take leaps and bounds as a passer?

That being said, Bridgewater just looks fantastic against all levels of competition. This young man is exponentially better than Geno, particularly under pressure (which is what he'll face in New York). He's very young though, he turns 21 this November, so there's any number of things that could possibly go wrong with him. There's that old saying - a great QB on the roster is worth two draft picks. (haha)

I guess the point of this rant is that the choice is really tough and I wouldn't be upset if Geno was the pick at 9.

Maybe Sanchez has overall more talent. But I think as of today (or the end of last season) Tebow or McElroy could at least better manage a game- not turn the ball over repeatedly, especially fumbling which is pretty ridiculous when you fumble repeatedly in the NFL.

Also, I definitely get the point that maybe Bridgewater or others may not come off the same way next year, so I defintely think we have to try to get a Geno Smith or a similar caliber player this year.

However, as someone who follows CFB and is especially Bridgewater since he'll play my Knights through next year, I don't see him falling off at all. The schedule for the Ville only gets easier, their OL is very good, and their only real bad game last year was when he was hurt against UConn.

In regards to Wilson, he is very, very good, which was masked by a horrific defense. As to Barkley, we know about USC QBs all too well, especially once Kiffin came in.

I really hope they don't take GS with the 9 pick, I have been watching his tapes and he is not worthy of the 9 pick, there is no QB this year who is.

I would rather they go young OLINE or OLB with the 9 pick and plan for the future, and if there is a QB in the third round they want to take a chance on fine, just not the 9 pick.

I agree, that's why I don't see the big deal on the possible revis first rd pick, this year or next. Very weak draft.

You gotta think either Jacksonville, Oakland, Arizona, or Buffalo will draft him before 9.

I wouldnt hate drafting him as much as others here would but I'd rather go in a different direction. A talented player will fall to 9 either OL, LB, or WR. I think we gotta go BPA at those 3 positions.

Unless Johnny Manziel is the game-changer as the NFL moves to the read-option from the pro set.

You never know when a huge change like that has occurred until after it's gone by.

The NFL might be two hand touch pretty soon and Qbs like JM will be tearing it up

I think NFL defenses will catch up on it eventually. Ravens did an excellent job of locking that up, by having Suggs hit Kaep each and every time

That's creative accounting..so if backups replace starters next year then you never lost the starters to begin with? Really? If Revis goes then he was right they will have lost 8 starters from last year and I am even including Revis in that number.
